"Atlas" is a 1-year-old Lab/Border Collie mix weighing 40 pounds — the perfect “just right” size for road trips, hiking trails, and couch cuddles. Surrendered when his family had to move somewhere that didn’t allow pets, Atlas hasn’t let that dull his bright, outgoing spirit. He’s potty trained, crate trained, and already has wonderful house manners. He loves the outdoors and would happily join you for a walk, a weekend adventure, or just relaxing in the yard soaking up the sunshine. Atlas is friendly with people, gets along well with other dogs, and forms loyal bonds with his humans. He has a nice, balanced energy level — playful and ready to go when you are, but not over-the-top. If you’re looking for a steady, devoted companion with a sweet heart and an adventurous soul, Atlas is ready to carry the world with you. 🐾

It's Wishlist Wednesday!
Below are some items we need to help out the animals in our shelter:
- Cardboard flats (11" wide or less) - we use them for kitty litter boxes
- Soft Dog Treats such as: Pupperoni, BilJac Training Treats, Beggin Strips, etc
- Canned Kitten food (any brand but we prefer Purina or Fancy Feats)
- Squeeze-up Cat Treats
Items can be shipped directly to us or dropped off at our shelter during business hours 10am-4pm Mon-Fri.

Guess who’s back from college and ready to start her next chapter?! 🎓🐾

Meet Ella — our stunning 6-year-old Pitbull mix who just graduated from her stay with the amazing students at Jefferson College Vet Tech program and is officially back on the market… and ready to be someone’s spoiled only child (or slightly bossy sibling 😉).

Ella is fully vetted and ready to go home TODAY. And the best part? Her adoption fee has been covered! 🎉

Let’s talk personality:
✨ Short-lived zoomies (she’s athletic… in bursts).
✨ Professional lap occupier — if it’s empty, it’s hers.
✨ Treat enthusiast. No, really. MANY treats.

When it comes to other dogs, Ella does have a bit of a diva streak. If they’re not trying to out-boss the boss, things usually go just fine. She appreciates good manners and respectful roommates.

She can be a little shy at first — especially with men — but give her a little patience and she blossoms into a total social butterfly. Once you’re in her circle, you’re in for life. 💕

Before heading off to college, Ella had been with us since September 29th, 2025. She’s more than ready to trade kennel life for cozy couches, soft blankets, and a family to call her very own for her golden years.
She’s fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and flea & tick treated — basically packed and waiting at the door.

We still have seven adorable puppies looking for homes—three girls and four boys ready to find families of their own! 🐾

Their mom was a Pitbull/Shepherd mix, and while we’re not sure who dad was, we do know these babies are 4 months old and full of love. They’re fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and treated for flea and tick prevention—and they’ll be spayed/neutered before going home.

1. ID # 830631 was found on Heritage Court in Fenton on Friday 2/27/2026 in the late afternoon. Male, no microchip or collar.

2. ID # 830737 was found on Valley Springs Road in Dittmer and brought in this morning. Male, no microchip, blue collar.

3. ID # 830745 was found on Konert Lake Drive in Fenton and brought in this morning. Male, wearing 2 different collars and a blue harness. One of the collars had a tag with the name "Sokorro" and a phone number that doesn't work.

If you’ve ever wanted a mid-sized adventurer with supermodel eyes and zero awareness of personal space once he loves you — this might be your guy. He looks like a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix (complete with those absolutely stunning, stop-you-in-your-tracks eyes), and while some people might call him “short”… we prefer the term tall challenged.
He’s a little shy at first — the “observe quietly from a safe distance” type — but once you’re in his circle of trust, the wiggle butt activates. And not just a small wiggle. We’re talking full-body, can’t-contain-the-joy, tail-going-faster-than-physics-should-allow kind of happy.
When it comes to other dogs? He is convinced every single one is his new best friend and absolutely, without question, here to play with him. His optimism is unmatched. Has he confirmed they want to play? No. Does that stop him from hoping? Also no.
He hasn’t had much training yet, so he’s basically a blank — the perfect “let’s learn together” project for someone who wants to build a bond from the ground up. He’s looking for a best friend in every sense of the word: human and canine alike.
