We promote good preventative care for your dogs and cats in order to help prolong a healthy lifestyle. West Park Veterinary provides medical and surgical needs for all patients, routine or otherwise. We also provide after-hour emergency service for clients. We currently have 3 veterinarians working with us:



- Dr. Brittany Snyder has been a part of West Park Veterinary for 10 years now. She has

loved every aspect of caring for the dogs
and cats of Houma.

- Dr. Erin Kliebert has been with the West Park Veterinary family for 8 years. She cares
for each patient as though it were her own.

Cyclospora is in the news. Here's what pet owners should know:

Cyclospora is a human-specific parasite, meaning it causes illness in people but not in dogs or cats. Dogs may occasionally ingest Cyclospora eggs and pass them in their f***s without showing any signs of illness. That's why it's always important to clean up after your pets promptly and practice good hygiene.

Here are a few simple ways to stay healthy:
Pick up pet waste immediately.
Wash your hands before and after handling pet waste.
Wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly before eating.
Practice safe food preparation for both your family and your pets.

These everyday habits go a long way in protecting everyone in your household.

We recently teamed up with Anna 4 Paws to teach our local k9 handlers how to assess and respond to canine medical problems that arise in the field.

Anna 4 Paws is a non profit organization that provides first aid kits to k9 police officers. They also organize events like these, with the assistance of local veterinary teams, to help teach the officers how to utilize the equipment provided.

This event was a valuable learning experience that will help these officers save their partners much needed time to get to the vet in times of emergency. We are happy to help support our local working canines.
