Yikes! The ticks are absolutely terrible out there this year. Take a look at this bloated one we recently removed —definitely not something you want hitched to your fur baby!

​Since we are in Roscommon County, the two most common culprits you'll run into are the American Dog Tick (wood tick) and the Blacklegged Tick (deer tick).

​Quick Tick Safety:
​The Hitchhiker Danger: Pets can bring unattached ticks right inside on their fur, where they can easily crawl off and bite YOU. Protecting them protects the whole family!

​Proper Removal: Forget the old myths. Use fine-tipped tweezers, grasp the tick right at the skin, and pull straight up with steady, even pressure.
