Kittens are everywhere right now.

Rescue groups, shelters, fosters, and independent rescuers everywhere are overwhelmed. There are simply more kittens than there are homes, resources, and people available to help them.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to have your pets spayed and neutered.

What so many people don’t see is the heartbreaking side of this crisis. The heartbreaking side is the daily reality rescuers face. Or maybe they do see it and choose to ignore it because they think, “Somebody will help. Somebody will take care of it.”

The truth is, there aren’t enough somebodies.

The other day, I was driving down the road and saw a tiny orange kitten on the side of the road, already gone. I sat there and cried. That little life mattered. That one wasn't the first one I have seen this season, and I know it won't be the last. I don't even know the kitty's name, if they even had one. Did anybody love them? Did anybody notice the kitten was missing?

Right now, rescuers are tired- mentally and physically. Foster homes are full. Shelters are struggling for space. Yet the kittens keep coming.

Please be part of the solution. Spay and neuter your pets. Encourage your friends and family to do the same.

The kitten crisis is real, and it is affecting communities everywhere. The animals are paying the price. We all have a role to play in changing that.

This Sweet girl was brought in by a concerned citizen running loose on Pavilion for several days. She was able to finally catch her. She’s very Sweet. A bit skittish overall Sweet🩷🐶💜
