The only downside to owning these magnificent animals is that they just don’t live long enough and it is with heavy hearts we must let you know of the unexpected passing of our beloved best friend Pagani JCA - the young prince of Jade Creek who carried three generations of the Jade Creek Arabians breeding program. Born on our farm in Santa Ynez, California in 2014 — Pagani JCA sparkled the moment the California sunshine danced off his deep red chestnut coat. Exuding beauty and quality in every way, we knew very early on we had something very, very special - just how special, well that was yet to be determined.
His mother, our dearest Fellada JCA, daughter of forever loved Jake Jamaal JCA ++//, was paired with international sire supreme FA El Rasheem culminating in an individual who checked off all the requirements to represent the quintessential Jade Creek trademark of beauty, athleticism, and kindness. An accomplished show horse, Pagani JCA achieved superb showring honors in some of the toughest halter and performance competitions throughout the United States and Canada. As a young horse, Pagani captured the 2016 Scottsdale Two-Year-Old C**t champion blue ribbon with owner and breeder Manny Lawrence which culminated in his subsequent win as 2016 Scottsdale Reserve Champions for the Junior C**ts AAOTH. Jade Creek’s resident trainer Manuel Luquin also guided Pagani JCA to many top awards in Halter at Region 2, Region 4, Scottsdale, U.S. Nationals, and an electrifying presentation at the Arabian Breeders World Cup held in Las Vegas that we still remember to this day. Pagani JCA’s performance career was equally as exciting. Under the tutelage of Cynthia Burkman’s Burkman Centre of Scottsdale, Arizona - Pagani JCA dazzled the performance show ring with his extreme beauty and unique look by bringing home two Top Ten awards at both the U.S. and Canadian Nationals in Arabian Western Pleasure for the Junior Horses.
Perhaps, aside from Pagani's show ring success and his contribution to the JCA program of fulfilling three generations of Jade Creek breeding, it was his kind and willing attitude and zest for life. He was part of our family. Always easy, no fuss - he faced a career altering injury last year, and in true Pagani style - with his will and determination - recovered beautifully and was back to living a “normal” life. He traveled with us from Santa Ynez, California to Sisters, Oregon and then here to Scottsdale, Arizona. Pagani JCA’s legacy is carried forward through his son Foolish Pleasure JCA and his beautiful daughters that grace our farm. It is so true that those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.
Rest in peace sweet Pagani JCA.
