🌟 Training Tip Thursday 🌟
Let’s talk POTTY TRAINING! 💩🐾

⏰ Stick to a Schedule: Puppies gotta go after eating, drinking, playing, or waking up. Set a timer if you have to—your carpet will thank you!

🗣️ Praise the P*e! When they go where they’re supposed to, throw a dang party! 🎉 Treats, praise, maybe even a happy dance. Make it clear they did good.

🚫 Don’t Punish Accidents: If you find a mess after the fact, just clean it up. Dogs don’t connect punishment with past behavior—it just stresses them out.

🧼 Enzymatic Cleaners Are Your Friend: Regular cleaners don’t cut it. Enzyme sprays get rid of the scent so your pup doesn’t get the idea to go there again.

Today marked my 6th training session with sweet DuckDuck! He’s a sensitive guy who can get overwhelmed in new social situations. During our first week, he was so unsure he barely touched any treats in public.

We’ve been focusing on check-in behaviors and building solid training loops to help him feel more confident in unfamiliar environments—and today, he ate every treat I offered him! Moments like this are why I love what I do. Helping dogs grow into their best, most confident selves is the heart of my work.

Our pool and dock projects are coming along swimmingly! Make sure you're following our page as we hope to have rental availability for the newest dog sport, DockHunt! This is a great outlet for certain breeds' (like the German Fischhund) natural instincts but truly any breed can compete. And a special thank you to FedEx for the safe delivery of 300 goldfish yesterday!

✨Training Tip Thursday: Proofing a Behavior! ✨

You say “sit," and your dog sits like a champ…..until a critter sprints by🐿️🐰🐈‍⬛

That’s where proofing comes in!

💡 Build up distractions slowly. Start in a quiet room. Then try the backyard. Then a park. Add one distraction at a time, and reward big when your dog stays focused. Distractions are part of real life: let’s train for that! 💪🐶

✨ Consistency + patience = a rock-solid behavior, even when chaos strikes.
