At Y’allred Acres, I believe vet visits don’t have to be scary! I do several things with puppies that come through my doors for this:

• Practicing handling different parts of the dog’s body
• Rewarding calm behavior in new environments
• Making fun field trips just to hang out in the parking lot or lobby of my vet beforehand
• Getting lots of treats and happy reinforcement when it's time for an exam

The goal? Less stress and more tail wagging when it’s time for the real thing.

Start early. Keep it positive. Make the vet feel like part of the routine, not a surprise, scary event!

✨ Meet Dr. Williams! ✨

If you've ever brought your pet to our clinic, chances are you've met the incredible Dr. Williams — our fearless (and fur-loving) leader!

She's been practicing veterinary medicine for 13 years now, but her journey started when she was just 10 years old. Her beloved family dog fell seriously ill with IMHA, and a compassionate vet saved her life. From that moment, Dr. Williams knew exactly what she wanted to do: help pets and their families the same way. 🐶💉❤️

At home, she’s got a full-on furry family:
🐾 Durham – her 18 year old long and low mystery mutt who lives for trash raids
🐾 Trouble – a mischievous 1 year old Maine C**n who lives up to his name
🐾 Chauncey – a spoiled 10 year old grey and white cat she bottle-fed as a kitten
🐾 Seize Soixante-Quatre – her charming 8 year old orange boy (ask her how she came up with that name!)

Outside the clinic, you’ll find Dr. Williams:
🐓 Tending her flock of 16 (who's counting??) chickens
📚 Curled up with a Romantasy novel
🍝 Whipping up homemade pasta like a pro
🌊 Enjoying weekends on Lake Murray with her husband and their two adorable boys 💕

Whether she’s helping a new puppy find confidence during their first vet visit or comforting a senior pet through their golden years, Dr. Williams brings heart, skill, and a whole lot of love to every patient. 💕🐾

July Flyball Classes are now open! Every Wednesday night at 6 PM we'll be having a blast!

☀️ Whether you're looking to try a new sport with your dog or fine-tuning for your next tournament, my drop-in classes are all about fun for every dog and handler! You can sign up for as many or as few classes as your schedule allows.

Looking for motivation to train your dog in a low-pressure, supportive space? Join us for Sit, Stay, Socialize, an open gym-style session where you can work on whatever training goals you have. Distractions, rally moves, fitness, agility foundations, or just brushing up on the basics.

🐾 Meet Clover! 🐾
This sweet 4-month-old Beagle mix has completely stolen my heart! 😍 Her parents have done an awesome job laying a solid foundation with her, and now I get to help build on that progress.

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be focusing on:
✨ Building her confidence in public
🍗 Helping her manage over-arousal around food
🐶 Teaching her appropriate play and interactions with other dogs
🏡 Strengthening her kennel training

She’s incredibly smart, snuggly, and already winning me over… I’m not sure how I’m supposed to give her back! 💚

🐾 I often travel with client dogs as part of their socialization. Buzz here is only 14 weeks old and has already used the bathroom on leash in multiple states on this 1,200-mile trip.

I take travel safety seriously:

🚗 I crate dogs in crash-tested kennels (thanks Ruff Land Performance Kennels!) to protect them in case of sudden stops or accidents and to keep everyone safer in emergencies.

📱 I use a Necto device to monitor the temperature in my vehicle and get alerts if it starts heating up. It gives me peace of mind when the dogs are waiting in the car.

🐕‍🦺 I train my dogs to wait calmly in their crates until they’re leashed and released. No flying out into traffic or chaos!

💡 I make sure my dogs are wearing ID tags and have an up-to-date microchip. It’s the simplest safeguard in case we ever get separated.
