✨ SELF-CARRIAGE: FOR HORSE & HUMAN ✨

Dear Friends and Fellow Equestrians,

As riders, we often search for harmony, connection, and that elusive “feel” between horse and human.
All of it leads us to one profound principle — self-carriage.

In classical dressage, there’s a moment we quietly test for it:
the reins soften… the legs quiet…
and a question hangs in the air:

Can the horse maintain the movement without us?

It’s a moment of trust.
But it also reveals something deeper:

🔑 Can we hold ourselves in balance without leaning on them?

We often speak about our horses carrying themselves — yet we forget:
they are carrying us, too.

Every ounce of tension…
every unbalanced breath…
every slumped shoulder…
becomes part of their load.

🌟 Living Lighter

Self-carriage begins long before you mount up.
It begins in how you move through your day.

Try this:

• Treat mounting & dismounting as an act of art — no plopping. Each entry and exit a quiet gesture of gratitude.
• Condition like an athlete — even short, regular movement keeps your core awake and your seat alive.
• Learn about recovery — feel your own muscle soreness and notice how long it takes to ease. Your horse’s body speaks the same language.
• Pause before fatigue — stop while the movement is still clean. One perfect step matters more than ten tired ones.

⚜️ The Horseless Workshop at Mythos Farm

📍 November 15–16

We’ll explore self-carriage from the inside out — how breath, balance, and awareness shape every movement we share with our horses.
Two days to reset before winter, among quiet fields and thoughtful company.

Spaces are intentionally small so we can work closely together.

If this resonates, I would love for you to join us.
