What a lovely show weekend for YHS crew. Riders and horses were challenged with first time showing jitters, upping levels, new horses and places. The horses were so calm and lovely, the riders confident and smiling and supporting. There were even some silly barn aisle dancing at night check! The best! Thanks to all who worked so hard to put on the Blue Ribbon DX show at Devonwood. Can't wait to do again next year! Photo cred # 12/13 . Huge thank you to and for supportive and positive coaching! Late post from a super fun YHS Gaming and BBQ last weekend! We had a great turn out with over 15 horses and riders ( including our employees!) trying their best to fill buckets, keep eggs on spoons and Prosecco in their glass! Bending poles and barrels rounded out the games that led into burgers and cold beer from . We were treated to beautiful flowers and cheese cake from from everyone! We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful, fun and supportive community. Can't wait for the next one!

Met a new friend on the trail today.....actually maybe an old friend? I see one or two owls often on my rides on the property. I love the wildlife that calls our area homes-owls, coyotes(don't eat my cats!), bobcats(ditto!), black bear, elk, deer and yes, cougar.

Don't forget to just have fun and hang out with your horse! It is so important to create a balanced relationship where we don't just ask them to always work for us. This is your permission to just go hang out in your horses pasture and read a book, lay on the grass or have lunch with them!

We added a new family member this week. After months of searching for the right one, Nasa jumped in and we knew she was perfect. An 8 year old Azteca mare with great brain and willing to learn. She and S will be moving forward together! We can't thank enough for connecting us with Nasa. And to to getting us started on the right foot at beautiful Polestar Farm. We can't wait to see where these two go together!

No good pictures but tonight YHS had our first book club meeting! We discussed the first half of Starting in the Middle (we are a no pressure, come as you are book club!). We had over 90 years horse experience between us, stories, thoughts, inspirations of how to be better for us, for them. Thanks to for writing an inspiring book and we are excited for meeting number two and the 2nd half! What book should we read next?!
