I have been a huge admirer of for a number of years. His ability to create a calm, engaged and motivated horse thru ground work, clear communication, understanding and empathy is like a magic potion. Drawing from all corners of the horse world it is a truly unique alchemy. Pair that with the ability to teach and you have a phenomenal clinic. S and I each had a ground work session and a riding session. We watched every other group- trying to be sponges and absorb all the knowledge.
I hope I get to participate in another clinic with Tik again in the future-until then he has given me at least a years worth of inspiration and things to work on! ( if you are interested, check out Tik's latest book Starting in the Middle, or his (and others) master classes on 's app NF+ - I have learned SO much from them. )
Many thanks to Aspen Farm for hosting and all the other participants- your questions, horses and collective energy made it even better!

Garyn is returning to York Hill Stables April 25 and 26! We have so enjoyed her teaching- meeting every pair where they are with brilliant insights into the horse whether it's ground work, a young OTTB or a higher level horse refining it's movement. We only have 1-2 spots left each day. Contact me at [email protected] and Pass this along to anyone who might be interested.

Yes! This trail will be a 💎 of Post Canyon! Let's make it happen!

It takes a whole village, including those who aren't avid mountain bikers.

The Phelps Creek trail is made for hikers, runners, dog walkers, or anyone who wants to enjoy Post Canyon without a bike. The Phelps Creek No-Wheeled trail is a vital project for our community to finish. We need help getting this project done from the entire community, not just mountain bikers.

If you have donated to HRATS recently, we would love it if you encouraged your non-biking friends to get behind this project with a donation.

The Phelps Creek Equestrian/Hiker/Runner trail has been over a decade in the planning. It is being hand-built with the user experience in mind and has an adopter who is motivated to make it happen. This “no wheel” trail will increase the safety of all user groups by providing a dedicated experience for equestrians and pedestrians. When completed, it will be the longest trail in the Post Canyon system, stretching from Family Man to Binns Hill.
This trail is supported, in part, by a grant awarded to Hood River County by Oregon State Parks. The County has completed the first phase of a grant-required cultural resource survey at the site of a planned staging area at Binns Hill. The findings have triggered a second phase of study.

Hood River County has already ordered this study and does not need us to raise the full amount. However, we are seeking funds to help offset the anticipated costs ($18,000) to the County for this additional work. This is a fantastic opportunity for the no-wheeled community show some financial support for this important project.

Please share and donate below if you can.

Well, that was a night! Over 60 mph winds took down trees, power poles and Fences. Even a gate blew off! We are so fortunate no structures or vehicles were hit and no animal or human was injured. 2 am tree cutting and horse relocation into a safer area was treacherous. So thankful for amazing manager and her fiancé for helping . Chainsaws ran all day and there is still no power but we are all OK. Hopefully you are too!
