My 3-Year Grooming Journey ✂️
Model: Ami 🐶
Over the past few years, I’ve been slowly but steadily growing—learning new skills, improving my process, and focusing on better care for every dog.
There may not be dramatic changes, but I truly believe in consistent progress. Thank you to all my amazing clients and pups for trusting me and growing together with Lokahi 🤍
Excited to keep learning and bringing even better care to you all ✨

I have been a groomer for 18 years, but after moving to Hawaii, launching Lokahi, and going through pregnancy and raising a child, it had been difficult to find opportunities to update my professional skills.
In February 2023, thanks to Chika Chika Moribe , I attended a trade show in Pasadena, California. In just four days, I experienced so many new tools, products, classes, and competitions—everything I saw was truly eye-opening.
That experience strengthened my desire to improve, provide better care, support each dog’s well-being, and create a better working environment for my team.
As my son’s preschool life became more stable and with the support of my family, I was finally able to focus on myself again. Since then, I’ve made it a priority to keep learning whenever I visit Japan.
I don’t consider myself naturally skilled or a fast learner, but I believe in steady progress 😊
Through continuous trial and error—not only in haircutting, but especially in preparation like bathing and drying—I’m confident my work has improved.
As a result, I feel that dogs who visit regularly have healthier skin and coats. While many of these efforts may go unnoticed, I can truly see the difference.
Because each dog is so important, Lokahi may feel like an “overly caring” salon at times, but I’m grateful for the clients and dogs who grow together with us, as well as for Minami and Nao’s support. Minami Tamura
As we celebrate our 9th anniversary this month, thank you so much for your continued support 🤍
In mid-August, Lokahi will be closed for one week while I attend SuperZoo in Las Vegas to take a CPR course.
I look forward to bringing back new knowledge and continuing to grow ✨
