A 2011 Study done at Sherbrooke Hospital in Canada found GMO Bt toxins in the blood serum of 93% of pregnant women tested, and in the cord blood of 80% of their unborn babies. These are the same Bt toxins that are engineered into GMO insecticide producing GMO corn. Independent studies on these Bt toxins have shown caused for concern. This study is 4 years old, yet to date there has been no follow up. Fetuses are extremely vulnerable during their development and we must do everything we can to protect them from exposure to pesticides. This leads us to ask... WHY HASN'T FURTHER RESEARCH BEEN DONE?

Big news! Home Depot has agreed to eliminate bee-killing neonic pesticides in its garden plants. The world’s largest home improvement retailer is listening to consumer demand and strong science and has already removed 80% of bee-killing pesticides from its plants and will remove the rest by 2018. This progress happened because people across the country emailed, called and swarmed Home Depot stores.

ARE YOU A CORN LOVER, but avoid corn because of GMO contamination? There could be hope in the future. Frank Kutka is developing “Organic Ready” (a play on Monsanto's Roundup Ready trademark) corn varieties that can prevent cross-pollination and contamination from GMO corn and aims to have seeds available in 2015. For nearly 15 years, Frank Kutka has been working to save organic corn from contamination by genetically modified corn. Kutka, a plant breeder, has been developing what he calls “Organic Ready” corn varieties that have the ability to prevent cross-pollination from GM corn. “We need corn that organic farmers can grow without fear of GMO contamination,” says Kutka, who is in the fourth year of a five-year breeding project funded by the Organic Farming Research Foundation.
