Announcing who Cookie is bred to!
It’s… drum roll… 🥁
Jupiter!! Aka Ghostdance Astraya. We had him collected & evaluated this summer and there was no reason not to use it 😉 PS. His fertility is great! She took first try via AI with only about 1/3 of the collection. Their foal will be 100% FPD, GAP4, 5 panel clean, tall and athletic! They both have beautiful movement so I know their foal will too!
I will be the first to admit he is not proven *yet* but I believe part of proving a stallion is seeing what he produces! He already has multiple top 3 placings in halter and in-hand trail and has shown me that he is INCREDIBLY good minded. He was trained on the dummy & collected just one time and then went right back to showing and training. He has never placed a foot wrong at any time and has never offered to buck, rear, bolt, spook, or anything under saddle. He has amazing movement and I expect him to be extremely versatile, with a focus on ranch riding.
The plan is still for his first year standing at stud to be in 2025, and his first show season under saddle in 2024. So with Cookie’s foal being due in June 2024, he will have one foal on the ground prior to the beginning of his 2025 breeding season. We will probably have his max that year be 3-5 outside mares, and he will be AI only.
His genetics: 7 panel n/n, LPLP EEaa -
Fully foundation bred from some of the best foundation lines including: Ghostwind, Ulrich, Drea, Toby, and Pratt lines. FAHR & ApHC registered. 100% FPD, 88.9% FAHR, and GAP5.
Cookie’s registered name is HW All That Jazz, she was bred by Kathy Belcher who is known for her quality breeding program. Cookie is LP/n EeAa and 5 panel clean. She is a nice cross of foundation & modern appaloosa lines with 3 generations of Appaloosa x Appaloosa breeding.
The last picture is a somewhat crappy picture of his swimmers so if you don’t want to see them don’t scroll that far lol
*I’ll be getting new good photos of them both late October/early November. Cookie looks way better now that she’s really filled out
