Dogs can get several types of ear infections, and knowing the signs is key:

✨ Otitis Externa – outer ear canal infection
💧 Otitis Media – middle ear infection
⚖️ Otitis Interna – inner ear infection affecting balance
🍂 Yeast Infection – itchy, brown, waxy ears
🔥 Bacterial Infection – red, inflamed, sometimes painful

👀 Watch for signs like:

November is Senior Dog Month! Today we’re giving thanks for our senior dogs — the wise, gentle souls who remind us that love only grows deeper with time. 💛

They may move a little slower and nap a little longer, but their hearts are bigger than ever! Senior pups teach us patience, gratitude, and the joy of quiet companionship. Every tail wag, every soft nuzzle, every knowing look — it’s pure gold. ✨

Let’s celebrate the senior dogs who have given us their best years, and those still waiting for a cozy couch to call their own. Remember - love doesn’t have an age limit! ❤️🐶

We have loved and lost a lot of dogs over the years. It's one of the sad truths you have to face when you have been caring for and falling in love with other people's dogs 🐶for 18 years (and counting). Some losses sting more than others though. Maddie Jackson was one of those that cut deep.

Maddie visited us to get beautified ✂️every few weeks since 2012 - almost all of her 13 years on this earth. She would give you her paw 🐾when it was time to do her nails, open her mouth to have her teeth brushed , and "hold hands" when she needed a little reassurance throughout the process. In her younger days, she would even jump up on the table, eager to start her spa day. She was one of the first labradoodles that came to us - long before everyone jumped on the doodle bandwagon - and remained one of the most well-behaved until the end.

Outside of the salon, I had a chance to spend time with Maddie, including several holidays 🦃 🎄when she joined in with my family as if she had been with us for years. She hated riding in the car 🚗but made an awesome co-pilot. She would sleep 🛌- in her bed or mine - as long as you wanted her to, and grew to love Skinny Pop 🍿as much as I did even though her tummy did not.

I have been on a break from having dogs of my own for many years now, choosing instead to love YOUR dogs. Maddie was one of a select few dogs 🐩that made me think I was ready to open my heart ❤️and home 🏠to another furry friend whenever she would go home. I can't imagine how devastated her family is right now considering the hole that she left in my heart💚. There will never be another dog like Maddie and she will be dearly missed! 😔
