Last week, Dr. Denise and her family had the joy to serve at Tagbac Elementary School in the Philippines!! 🇵🇭 Dr. Denise gave a presentation to the 4th, 5th and 6th graders about bite prevention, rabies vaccination 💉and pet care.
At this school, each student maintains an organic garden plot for 30% of their grade. The school has made amazing improvements in this rural community by improving education and teaching garden techniques and healthy eating. They helped the students to start their gardens by planting seed trays and seedlings of string beans, raddishs, squash and okra. They also propograted herbs of stevia and peppermint (used in their juices).
They learned delicious recipes for immune boosting fruit juices and made a few batches of cucumber, carrot, beet, dragon fruit and purple pineapple juice. 🍍🥕🫜
The boys even played basketball and chess during recess. Such a fun time of learning and sharing together!

Thank you to all of our wonderful clients for your understanding and support while Dr. Denise was away in the Philippines exploring missions opportunities!
Dr. Denise will be returning to house call veterinary services starting tomorrow 7/23!! 🩺🐾

Summer days are great for front yard visits 💉with new furry friends, and French kisses from cheeky Dachshunds!!🐾 Doobie has a history of nipping when nervous, but with Dr. Denise he was a sweet gentleman...even lavish with his affection 😘
Specializing in Fear Free care, Dr. Denise takes time to build trust and bond with her patients. Her slow gentle approach, and lots of treats, allowed for Doobie to remain calm for a full exam, blood draw, vaccines and nail trim.
If your pet would prefer a more personal and calm experience in your home or yard, reach out! 👩🏼‍⚕️🩺

PSA: This is why Dogs need Lepto vaccines annually! Not only for their protection, but to protect the humans around them. Lepto is zoonotic (contagious to humans), can be deadly, and is easy to prevent. 💉

Dr. Jason is a dear colleague and fantastic vet! We have taught side by side at ISVMA education events. I’m grateful he is recovering well, but I can only imagine what is health, his family and his hospital have been through during his illness and recovery. Praying for you Jason. 🙏🏼

‼️Why We Strongly Recommend the Leptospirosis Vaccine‼️

Leptospirosis is a serious and potentially life-threatening disease that affects both animals and humans—making it what’s known as a zoonotic disease. It’s caused by bacteria found in the urine of infected animals and can be spread through contaminated water, soil, or direct contact with infected pets. Even dogs that live primarily indoors are at risk, especially after heavy rain or flooding.

Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to protect your dog—and your entire household—from this dangerous illness.

Recently, this hit close to home. Our own veterinarian, Dr. Jason Kennell, likely contracted leptospirosis from a contagious patient. He was hospitalized for five days, after battling symptoms for nearly a week. This has been a sobering reminder of just how real and serious this disease can be—not only for your pets but for the people who care for them.

We can’t stress enough how important it is to vaccinate. It’s a simple step that can prevent significant suffering for both pets and people.

Finally, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our wonderful clients who have been so patient and understanding while we adjusted schedules. Being down Dr. Jason and allowing his wife, Dr. Kaci, time to be by his side meant some changes in our daily operations—and your support has meant the world to our team.

Thank you for trusting us with your pets—and for being part of our extended clinic family. 💙💙🐈🐕

Super Sweet FIV+ cat seeking his forever home!
Hanging out with ”Chirps” at one of my local relief hospitals while he seeks placement has been a highlight of my month. He is super sweet, vocal and loves to snuggle! He would need to be a solo cat (dogs OK) in a home, or homed with other FIV+ cats.
He’s a neutered male and up to date on all of his medical needs. His ears for folded from frostbite, as he was found outside and had a rough winter!
Reach out if interested. Serious inquires only.

This weekend, I had the pleasure of taking Employee #1 on a road trip to Tennessee! We participated in Christian Veterinary Mission’s Real Life Real Impact conference at LMU. Not only did we deliver a trunk load of donated medications for use on vet missions, we made new friends with vets and vet students AND learned about our vet mission opportunities for this year…but Andrew learned about the appeal of conference SWAG!!

Please join us in praying about our mission opportunities together this year!
