Dr. Brittany and Dr. Amber headed to Wisconsin to learn how to harvest bone marrow! They are learning this technique to add bone marrow stem cells to our list of advanced therapeutics, which can be harvested and injected on the same day in our office. Research has shown that stem cells combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can be injected into injured tendons and ligaments to assist with healing. Thanks so much to Dr. Pedro Rivera, Dip. ACVSMR and The Healing Oasis Wellness Center for allowing us to use their lab!!

It's always fun to have an ACVSMR resident visit for a week. We welcomed Dr. Annie Ubatuba to Veterinary Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation, where she participated in case rounds, journal club, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and a mock board exam with Dr. Brittany. It was such a great week of learning and fellowship.

Dr. Brittany spent the first week of January in Alaska! She took a graduate-level course on sled dog physiology and learned to drive a dog sled. What an adventure! Ask her about her trip next time you see her.
