***UPDATE I took her to my vet to be scanned, but no microchip. I noticed her 6-month teeth are in, but I'm guessing she's not much older than that. She had some diarrhea, not in her litter box, unfortunately, and peed in the kennel on the way to the vet. She seems very sweet, but if an owner isn't found, I cannot keep her because my dogs cannot be trusted with a cat and we have no room for separation because we have a very tiny home.

A cat showed up at our house this afternoon on County Road 391 about a mile and a half from Turkey Creek golf course. She's black with a white mustache and some white on her neck and her feet and seems pretty young and thin. She was trying to get inside my fenced in yard, but our dogs are very riled up by cats and she would not have been safe, if she had gotten in there. I have her in a kennel with plenty of cozy bedding, food, water and a litter box under our enclosed carport with a comforter over her kennel. I don't know if she was dumped or if she wandered here, but we cannot have her loose with a feral tomcat in the area who was trying to either go after her or breed her and I did not want a fight or babies!! If anyone is missing her, please let me know! She cannot stay in that kennel long-term and we cannot let her in our house, due to the dogs and they're excitement, to say the least, about cats. These pictures are not very good!

This link is a really good video from a veterinarian about recommended frequency and number of vaccinations and the side effects and efficacy of each. There are blood tests to check your dog for distemper, parvo and rabies. It's more expensive than getting the vaccinations, but I feel like it's worth it to avoid the risks. Interesting video and I recommend everyone watches it, just for your own information, even if you don't change your vaccination routine.

🐾We want to officially welcome Yoshi to our pack! We temporarily fostered him and his brother, through Yadi's Pittie Pals , a couple times while his foster mom was out of town, and we just fell in love with him! The girls have accepted him and Ruthie loves to play with him and he's quickly become a beloved member of the family!💗

I sometimes wonder why dogs are so good to us.
We don’t deserve it, not really. We’re flawed, selfish creatures, stumbling through life, yet there they are, offering us something pure, something real.
They love us without conditions, without asking for anything in return, just happy to be by our side. Maybe it’s because they see something in us we can’t see in ourselves, a goodness we’ve forgotten or buried under layers .
They don’t care about our mistakes, our shortcomings they just see the person who feeds them, who takes them for walks, who sits quietly beside them in the dark. And somehow, they make us better, just by being there. They remind us that there’s still something worth loving in this messy, chaotic world. Dogs don’t hold grudges, they don’t judge—they just give.
And maybe that’s the lesson we’re too blind to learn: that being good isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up, day after day, with a heart wide open, no matter how many times it gets bruised.

Hey y'all! I wanted to make this post in regards to WINTER grooming and to let everyone know it's okay to trim your dog's hair short in the winter! Chances are they all live in the house and only go outside to go potty, go play or go for a walk. I tell people to consider dogs like Chihuahuas or Pitbulls, who have very short hair and essentially bald bellies and they are fine! If you decide it's too chilly for them, then get them a sweater! I understand some people like their dogs to be fluffy or long and luxurious, however, that does require some home care and maintenance in between grooming visits. I can only do so much when dogs are tangled or matted and I WILL NOT punish the dog for a lack of maintenance at home. When you first get a new dog and you have not had a long haired or high maintenance dog before, I am happy to do the best I can to keep them long and give you sufficient tips and tricks and advice on tools to keep them in decent condition at home, so that I don't have to cut them short. It is imperative that people understand that I am not magic!! I am going to be an advocate for THE DOG, even though I do want to do what my clients want. If I feel like it's too much for the dog to tolerate, I'm going to say something and I'm going to insist that either more home care is done or more frequent visits are made to me, or the dog needs to have it's hair cut shorter.
