🌟 Day 4 Update on Ember & Buttercup 🌟
Four days ago, these girls stepped into a completely new chapter of their lives. Today, we're celebrating the little victories. ❤️
Ember made some wonderful progress yesterday. As I sat quietly in her space, asking nothing of her, she chose to come closer on her own. Time and time again she walked up, sniffed me, investigated everything I brought with me, and even reached out for a few gentle pets. 🥹
Ember still enjoys the water play so we continue to give her what she loves the most right now; the sprinkler. 💦
For now, that's exactly what we're focusing on—no pressure, no expectations. Just showing her that we're here to offer calmness, kindness, and consistency. Ember has lived with a lot of uncertainty, and my biggest goal right now is helping her understand that she's finally home. A place where she can relax, feel safe, and simply be a horse.
Buttercup, on the other hand, has decided to keep us humble. 😂
I'll admit, I thought she might settle in a little faster, but she's definitely shown us her stubborn side! While she hasn't opened up as much as Ember yet, she has come to the gate and allowed a few face pets. That's a start, and we'll happily take it.
Trust can't be rushed. Every horse arrives with a different story, and Buttercup is telling us she needs a little more time. That's okay. We'll meet her where she is and let her move at her own pace.
One thing we've noticed is that Buttercup really enjoys having the other horses nearby. We've been leaving the gate open so the herd can come and go around her pen, and I think watching us interact with the others has helped her realize this is a safe place, too.
And Domino? Well... we're pretty sure he's become her favorite. Maybe her crush.😉❤️
The minis, however, have not impressed her one bit. She seems perfectly content pretending they don't exist. 🤣
Overall, we're incredibly happy with where both girls are after just four days. Building trust takes time, and we're prepared for the journey. Every curious sniff, every step closer, every moment of relaxation is a win worth celebrating.

🐴💕 Help Us Build Buttercup's Forever Space 💕🐴
When Buttercup arrived at Tiny Hiney Farm, she had no idea her life was about to change. 🩵 This sweet girl is settling in, learning that people can be kind, meals arrive on time, and she never has to wonder where she'll sleep at night again.
We're raising funds to purchase livestock panels and a gate. This new panel enclosure will provide a secure space for training, veterinary care, introductions to the herd, and the daily routines that help rescued animals thrive. It's an important step in giving Buttercup the stable foundation she deserves as she begins this new chapter.

❤️🐴 Big Changes Are Happening at Tiny Hiney Farm! 🫏❤️

This week, we welcomed Ember the mustang and Buttercup the b***o to the rescue.

Both girls are settling into their new home, learning their surroundings, and beginning their journey toward a brighter future. Every curious look, every meal, and every small step forward reminds us why rescue matters.
Next week we will be welcoming two more to our farm, as well as another the week after! 🥰

And you’ll be able to follow their journey leading up to Splash & Spark on July 11!

When you attend, you’ll be helping support Ember, Buttercup, Brown, Grey, Bristol and the rest of the herd- Annie, Apache, Domino, Diva & Chili- while enjoying an evening of family fun, slip-n-slide adventures, horse-themed activities, great food, and more! This event means so much to us and for them!

🙌 What a great first day with these two! Ember has definitely shown more curiosity throughout the day and Buttercup- well she’s still hesitant on human interaction. That’s okay though. She will come around eventually, on her own time. 🌟 She got to meet the herd and she did well with them- through the fence lol. However, she wasn’t very interested in the mini’s at all. 😆 We will give her all the time she needs.
Small victories, no pressure- day 1 was a success! ♥️

She had her first roll today! 🥰

To most people, it’s just a horse rolling in the dirt.

To us, it’s a reminder that healing begins with the smallest moments.

For a prey animal who has spent her life relying on caution and survival, choosing to lay down and roll is an act of trust.
✨ She’s beginning to relax.
✨ She’s feeling more comfortable in her surroundings.
✨ She’s releasing stress and tension.
✨ She’s starting to believe she’s safe.
