Last but definitely not least of our sales group! We hateeee to give this boy up but we just know he has to potential to be something really special. We bought him to be a teacher to our intermediate/advanced students and while he is great at his job, he deserves a shot to fulfill his hunter dreams with a special someone prior to becoming a full-time lesson horse!

✨ Hunter Prospect – Shesterkin ✨

Shesterkin is a coming 6-year-old OTTB gelding standing 16.2 hands with all the makings of a true hunter type. He has a lovely, honest canter, he is more of a push ride but once in asked gait he is not one that needs to be nagged. He’s been to schooling shows and is the same horse off property as he is at home—steady, straightforward, and willing.

He has plenty of scope and is super brave to the fences. He has some show miles under him and has also been basically fully restarted, giving him a great foundation to continue up the levels. He’s still working on his flying changes but sticks his simples consistently. His hand gallop is a dream and shows exactly why he shines in the hunter ring.

Shesterkin had three leasers in our program in North Carolina, and he took care of each one with patience and grace. He aims to please, loves having a job, and is genuinely one of the sweetest horses to be around.

He is a mild cribber, easily managed with a collar. He’s also still gaining confidence in cross-ties—he can get uncomfortable when horses come up behind him in the aisle—so we typically tie him in a wash stall or tack him up in his stall. These small quirks don’t take away from how polite, kind, and easy he is to handle day to day.

If you’re looking for a brave, scopey, and kind gelding with the movement and attitude for a successful hunter career, Shesterkin is ready to step into a program and keep progressing.

The third and youngest of the sale group… this boy has poise and potential! We initially got him as an advanced lesson horse coming up the pipeline, but we think he would really enjoy the opportunity of a show career before he commits to the lesson life. He’s a joy to be around and has quite the moves under saddle as well for a late 4 year old!
Hunter/Eq Prospect – My True Colors ✨🎨

My True Colors is a coming 5-year-old OTTB gelding standing right at 17 hands and still growing. He had only one start on the track before being retired and has now had a well over a full year to grow up, restart correctly, and learn the basics with us.

He does have old pinfiring marks, but he has been vet-cleared to jump, show, and compete. He came from New Vocations and was rested there prior to coming to us. PPEs are absolutely welcome before purchase.

Under saddle, he is confidently going walk/trot/canter and picks up both leads. He has been started in an English and Western saddle. He has his simple changes consistently and is well on his way with his flying change. He has been lightly and correctly started over small cross rails and shows plenty of promise. He’s the type who learns quickly, likes a job, and takes new things in stride.

As a chestnut coming five-year-old, he has opinions and thoughts about his doings, but he’s very honest and generally polite both on the ground and under saddle. He doesn’t set out to do anything wrong and genuinely wants to please. With continued consistency and guidance, he’s going to make someone a really fun, competitive partner.

This gelding has all the pieces to develop into a lovely hunter or equitation horse — the movement, the brain, the step, and the presence. He’s ready for someone to take him into a program and continue producing him.

Merko is no longer being offered for sale. He is now a permanent member of our equine staff here at Chapter One Equestrian. We weren’t kidding when we said we LOVE Meeko🦝!

As the seasons change and we prepare for the winter, Chapter One Equestrian will be offering a few of our loved employees an opportunity for promotion- as much as they love their jobs here at the barn, we know there are a few that would just thrive in a new environment! The first of the bunch is a barn favorite, and while we selfishly hate to see him leave, we know he would absolutely love a little girl of his own to love for Christmas.

Can you just imagine waking up to this handsome paint under the christmas tree??

Meeko is an 18-year-old grade Paint gelding standing at 14.3 hands. He’s kind, steady, and the perfect partner for someone looking for a fun, reliable horse to love on and enjoy!

Meeko has been a part of the lesson program at Chapter One Equestrian in Holland, OH, where he’s safely and confidently taught riders of all ages. He was also leased by an adult amateur through the spring and summer and really thrived with the consistency and attention! He’s the same horse every day—honest, patient, and always eager to please.

He’s a great trail partner and has been hauled off property several times, including to Oak Openings Metropark, county fairs, and small local shows. He stays calm and confident wherever he goes and even brought home a few blue ribbons along the way. Meeko will pop over small jumps, go around barrels and poles, and loves finishing a flat lesson with a little ba****ck time. ☺️

He is blind in one eye, but it hasn’t caused any issues in the year we’ve owned him. He wears a fly mask in the summer to keep it comfortable and clean. He’s confident, sure-footed, and doesn’t shy or spook on that side.

He can be a little sticky picking up his right lead, but he’ll get it and continues to improve with consistency and a confident rider.

While Meeko has done great in a lesson program, he really shines with one rider to give him their time and attention. He loves being brushed, pampered, and made someone’s number one.

If you’re looking for a safe, dependable gelding with a big heart who would make a wonderful Christmas surprise for a young rider or family, Meeko might just be the one. 🦝💚

No Stirrup November starting early this year!

Introducing our Beginner Lesson Horses!

Meet Wallace- Wallace is our gentle draft horse. He is a Percheron cross and is as sweet as can be. Patient with new students he teaches the basics of riding. Walk, steering, and introducing the trot. He is just the best and LOVES kids!

Meet Pumba- Pumba lives up to his name. This boy LOVES FOOD! He is one of the best horses for timid riders as he is perfectly happy to takes things as slow as possible. While he prefers the true beginners, when convinced- he is a great canter and introducing jump horse.

Meet Domino- Domino is the head trainer’s personal favorite in the lesson program. He has a big personality in a pony sized frame. He is a wonderful mount for those learning to post as he has a bouncier trot. He is also wonderful for those who want to jump but aren’t confident cantering into jumps. Domino is a Standardbreds, while they can canter Domino prefers to trot everything! This does not hold him back when he goes to shows either. This guy can turn and burn in the jumpers if asked!

Meet Caesar- ah our resident noodle 🍜… we love this guy to the moon and back. He is a true jack of all trades and can teach you just about anything. Western? He’s got it. Dressage? He’s got it. Want to jump? You guessed it Caesar’s got it! He’s even done saddle seat.

New page calls for introductions!

We will start with our two resident retirees.

Pirate is the sweetest guy on the planet. He was a kill pen rescue that needed some help and understanding. Pirate is easy to handle (sometimes in the way- but easy to handle). He is great on the ground and helps with summer camp and day camps doing horse anatomy and grooming. We love him dearly, but Pirate has told us that there is something in his past that makes him terrified of being ridden. At his age and given what is known about his backstory, we are happy to have him here to enjoy life for the rest of his❤️

Our second retiree is Daisy. Daisy is not old, she is only 8, but recent vet findings have deemed her not a good fit as a riding horse. We love Miss Daisy so much, and she is so happy to be living her best life with her friends. We look forward to having our Sweet Daisy for many years to come and she will participate in farm activities in the same capacity as Pirate. She loves all the attention💕
