Spooky decorations are a chance to build confidence and neutrality!

I don’t start right next to a moving animation though.

I give my service dog in training clients space to observe at a distance first, reward check-ins and reward calm observations of the decorations, and let them choose whether to move closer. If the dog needs more distance, we take it.

Training a future service dog? Save this as a reminder that it’s okay to start slow and at a distance to build confidence around spooky decorations!
