ATTENTION ALL HORSE OWNERS! Here is your weather warning P.S.A. please check your horse's feet for accumulating snow balls or ice balls and remove any build up. To help prevent this from occurring, clean the feet well and coat the bottom of the hoof with Vaseline or Pam cooking spray. This will not totally negate build up but will help prolong it from happening. This build up can cause foot soreness and potentially lead to severe bruising if not attended to in a timely manner. Shod horses are more prone for this to happen to but it can happen to barefoot horses as well. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

ATTENTION ALL CLIENTS
Due to increasing costs of my business there will be a price increase effective in the near future. It will be discussed with all existing clients at upcoming appointments and put into effect at future appointments. Once again these increases are due to the increasing cost of doing business and the ability to attend clinics and certifications to help better serve you and your animals. I am truly grateful of my clients that have allowed me the privilege of working with them and continue to strive for excellence with their animals!

Sometimes hoof quality doesn't revolve around the ideal circumstances. You fight genetics, nutrition, environment and so many other elements it can become a major struggle. Some days you make progress, some days you don't. Only more time and hope is the sometimes the only thing you have on your side.

ATTENTION: I am currently NOT accepting any new clients for the time being. My schedule is actually slightly over booked and it makes it hard for me to provide quality service when I am having to rush to get to the next client to keep everyone happy. I will be accepting new clients in the future but currently my schedule will not allow it. Thank you to everyone that has given me the chance to be part of their Equine team and referred me to get myself to the point I am currently at! Any existing clients that did not schedule an appointment at our last visit please contact me as soon as you can to schedule appointments as needed so I can get everything planned accordingly. Thank you!

Attention Horse Owners: This is the time of year where I see many abscesses occurring in equine hooves. If you begin to see any signs of lameness please contact your veterinarian to have the issue diagnosed. Many abscesses will work themselves out with no to minor issues. Others may cause severe lameness and have to be dug out and a treatment protocol established. Please talk with professionals before doing any form of treatment for any issue. Also some may not present any lameness while going through this. The picture shown is from a donkey that I recently trimmed that I opened up a rather large abscess tract while trimming, she had shown no signs of lameness during the time it had developed.

This is a Navicular Quarter Horse that I have been working on for about a year now. This is the 3rd time that I have had to change his shoeing protocol. Just as a reminder to anyone that may have a horse with Navicular Syndrome that sometimes as the stages progress there will be times that what has been working well may no longer work to keep your horse comfortable. In these cases working with a knowledgeable vet and skilled farrier they can assess and work together to try and keep your horse going as best they can. Please don't get frustrated with either one of these professionals if something starts to no longer work and have to change something. It is all a working progress.
