From large animal medicine to shelter care, Dr. Linda Westall has dedicated her career to improving the health and well-being of animals across New Mexico. Now serving at the Hobbs Animal Adoption Center, she finds purpose in every spay and neuter—knowing that each procedure strengthens the health of entire communities.

A trailblazer who entered the profession when women in large animal medicine still faced barriers, Dr. Westall continues to inspire with her compassion, resilience, and wisdom. Her advice to new veterinarians? “Remember that you are not alone—reach out for help when you need it, and always celebrate your successes.”
