🎉 Celebrating Years of Dedicated Service to the City of Hobbs! 🎉

At the July 20, 2026, City Commission Meeting, City Manager Manny Gomez proudly recognized two exceptional employees for their dedication, hard work, and years of service to the City of Hobbs.

👏 Andrea Urso – 10 Years of Service
Andrea, the IPRA Coordinator for the Hobbs Police Department, has been a vital part of the department's success for the past decade. She plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with state and federal public records requirements under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and has consistently demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and dedication to public service. In 2018, Andrea was honored as the Civilian of the Year, recognizing her outstanding commitment and dedication. Today, she also assists with the implementation of the department's Officer and Civilian Appreciation Program, helping recognize employees for the outstanding work they do each day.

"We are grateful for Andrea's dedication over the past decade and look forward to the years ahead." — City Manager Manny Gomez

👏 Donna Veleta – Hobbs Animal Adoption Center
Donna has become an invaluable member of the City of Hobbs Animal Adoption Center, through her leadership, professionalism, and passion for animal welfare. As a dedicated Field Training Officer, she ensures procedures are understood and followed while sharing her knowledge of Canine behavior to promote positive outcomes for the animals in our care. She also provides leadership in the manager's absence, supports daily operations, and represents the Adoption Center through community outreach and pet education events.

"Donna is a true asset to the growth and vision of the Hobbs Animal Adoption Center." — City Manager Manny Gomez
