Us living on the river with equine and various other critters we value and respect the spoods on the property as they REALLY EARN THEIR KEEP around here in mosquitoes and flies!
You will never see us pressure washing the overhang of our home or roof of the horse trailer. We often save many types of web puppies in different struggling situations and release them on the property as natural pest control.
They LOVE our garden and we love the lack of bugs in our gardens other than the spiders 😂. We see many types here including wolfies and various weavers and jumpers.
Here is the beautiful girl that has set up shop at my front door, going in and out at night we are careful not to disturb her web and all of our human guests know to not disrupt the girls fly catching! NO SQUISH ZONE!

✨ Furrow orbweaver (Larinioides cornutus)
✨ Females typically grow larger than males
✨ Thrive in damp areas near bodies of water
✨ Frequently found on human structures like porches and eaves
✨ Primarily nocturnal retreats to hideaway during the day
✨ Most weather one season but some adults can weather through the winter as low as -20°
✨ Circular web they rebuild NIGHTLY consuming left over silk to recycle protien
✨ Prefers to run/hide over bite
