We've had LeAnder a week now and things are going good. He has stayed in the baby pen outdoors except for one night. We kept him indoors when it rained. Brittany feeds him each morning in the pen and we bring him in at night to feed him, love on him, and work with him. He has been easy to catch and walks to and from the pen with no problem. He has been a little difficult on groundwork, but he is still a baby and I think that is typical. We'll get there though. Pictured is Addy giving LeAnder treats as they get ready to bring him inside for dinner.

LeAnder was turned out into the baby pen at the barn. He wasn't sure what to think at first, but after a few hours had settled and made friends with Prez and Mystical. What an exciting day for him!

We made it home from our trip and to the barn about 5:00PM. When we got home from the barn, LeAnder was hungry and ready for his new stall. It was a lot of work, but we got his stall ready and got him settled.

LeAnder is a 15 month old Sorrel Quarter Horse. October 8, 2022 was LeAnder's "Got You" Day. We adopted him from Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society . He was fostered and trained at our barn for four months before participating in Blue Bonnet's Training Challenge. We had high hopes that he would find the perfect adoptive family, but as the adoptions closed, LeAnder (formerly James) did not have anyone interested in adopting him. He is so sweet and a barn favorite so it was hard to see him go to yet another foster family. The Lee Family and the Anerson Family adopted him. We stayed at the Lucky Star Ranch in Leander, Texas for our trip to the Training Challenge and that, combined with our last names, made LeAnder the perfect name. This page is dedicated to Loving LeAnder and our adventures raising him.
