Moody Horsemanship

Moody Horsemanship I strive to train horses that are soft to the touch and easy to handle for all different levels of experienced riders.

I have experience in training horses for multiple disciplines including: barrels, team roping (heel or head), and trail horses.

I see that my page has had some traffic lately. I am not currently training but contact me if you need something! I know other trainers of all kinds and can refer you to someone and can either consider taking something on possibly in the next month and a half. Most trainers are full for their summer schedule and can help the people looking last minute. Reach out with questions and concerns! I am mostly helping people that know me personally but that doesn’t mean I can’t help you. 😊

I’m working on adding videos of those two year olds but my page seems to be having problems with loading the posts. Bare with me the next few days as I add these videos.

This is October 14th as well. First time moving his feet while on him. He is very intelligent and willing. He was a pretty easy one to train.

First ride on the 2 year old sorrel stud. This guy is much different than the other 2 year old I had in. This video is from October 14th, 4 days after receiving them. I took a couple days to work on ground work and to get to know him and the other one.

I have recently made two posts about updates on the two year olds that doesn’t seem to want to publish with the videos attached. Both have now had their first ride and it went well. I have two at the moment with the other three arriving after these two are done. These two couldn’t be more polar opposites, but they are both getting along well.

Excited to announce that while I will be preparing to take my CPA exams and figuring out the next step to take I will be taking in five 2 year olds for the next month. Stay tuned for progress and updates to come as they arrive soon!

This is my two year old c**t Huck. He has not been handled much and I have only thrown a leg over him one other time before today. He is such a well behaved horse. Also, did not anticipate him being so cowy.

There will be new videos coming shortly of the little 3 year old filly and stud I’m currently just getting going. Been a crazy start to the summer and I’m excited to get things moving in the right direction.

I knew this c**t was going to be easy going, but I didn’t expect a two year old to take a saddle sliding as well as he did (I knew it was loose). This is his second time being saddled, first time being walked around with one on and the first time I’ve ever gotten on him. He is going to be great for kids to climb all over someday. Something in his personality reminds me of my Walter. 😊

I have been pretty busy with this little girl, grad school, and an internship. My last day of my internship was today and I have 3 weeks left of school. That means a lot of time to spend with my newest member of the herd, Rita.

I will be training a friends 3 year old stud and filly to start the summer. Can’t wait to get back outside instead of being stuck inside studying or working. Also can’t wait until this little one is old enough to swing a leg over. 😊

Anyone recognize this mare?

Yes it is the same grey horse I got two years ago that wasn’t even halter broke. Yes it is the same mare who blew up and fell with me on her and broke my rib.

For the most part she is a completely different horse than when I got her. She is still flighty with noises. Not sure how long it will take her to get over noises coming from her back. It’s almost like she has short term memory when it comes to soaking that aspect in, like she forgets I’m back there sometimes lol. She is a sweat heart nonetheless and that’s why she has stuck around this long. Also probably because I don’t like to fail on one. She has graduated to actually having a name which is Goose, but I’m thinking Judy fits her better with a b***y like hers.

Throughout the video she still showed her weak spots. She gets distracted easily and I want her focusing on what I am asking her to do. Hence the abrupt (looked worse than it was) correction when getting her to side pass to her left. A horse not focused on you will definitely not do what you ask of them. She is buddy sour and always looking over her shoulder for them or looking at the blowing corn stock leaf on the ground.

Point of the message really is that she is headed in the correct direction with a lot to learn but she has come very far. By the time I’m “done” with her she will make me very proud.

Well this pretty three year old gelding has had me on the ground twice. First time I fractured my arm and the second just some sore muscles and bruises. He is finally starting to turn around his attitude. He will turn out to be a good little horse for my clients son.
