Kitten season is in full swing, which means our shelter is overflowing with tiny paws, big personalities, and future best friends waiting for homes.

Not every enrichment activity for shelter cats involves toys. 🎬🐱

One of the ways we help our cats stay engaged is by hosting a “drive-in movie” experience. From bird-watching videos and aquariums to nature documentaries, these sights and sounds give cats a chance to experience something new while they’re waiting for their forever homes.

Some videos encourage playfulness and curiosity, while others help create a calm, relaxing environment. It’s a simple but meaningful way to support their mental well-being and make shelter life a little more enriching.

And yes, every cat gets their turn at the movies. 🍿💕

🐾 $5 Friday 🐾

Seventeen dogs. One second chance.

Recently, we welcomed 17 dogs from a local hoarding situation into our care. Many arrived frightened, unsocialized, and in need of medical care, patience, and support.

Before these dogs can find loving homes, they must receive comprehensive veterinary care. On average, it costs approximately $150 per dog to provide essential care including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, preventatives, diagnostics, and other medical treatments.

Our goal is to raise as much as possible to help cover their basic medical care as we prepare them for their forever homes.

Every day, our team is working to help them heal, build confidence, and learn to trust. While they still have a journey ahead of them, they are making progress and moving closer to the loving homes they deserve.

This $5 Friday, your donation can help give these dogs the fresh start they’ve been waiting for. ❤️🐾

It’s a big day in the shelter. 🧀🐱

For National Cheese Day, we asked our volunteer dog walkers to snap a photo with their grilled cheese sandwiches.

But it’s also National Hug Your Cat Day, which means our shelter cats are expecting the same level of enthusiasm. 💛

So whether you’re celebrating with melted cheese, extra cuddles, or both, we hope you take a moment to appreciate the furry friends who make every day a little brighter.
