Meet Scarlet, a beautiful four year old white Sabino. Her visually distinct color pattern is common in Tennessee Walking Horses. She is currently with one of our fosters being prepared for her new home and has learned to halter, lead, tie, and is now being started under saddle. She is sweet, calm and loves children, though she can occasionally be a bit shy or stubborn.

Scarlet has a current Coggins and is up to date on all vaccinations. While she is currently a little underweight due to a high parasite load, she has been dewormed and should start gaining weight now.

Please let us know if you are interested in learning more about Scarlet or maybe even adopting her.

We know a lot of our posts focus lately has been on the new facility, but we have not stopped working out where the horses live beyond our farm. Yesterday we had volunteers in two different counties. Dropping salt blocks and checking on herds. All of these horses are still a priority to us, and we will continue to do all that we can for both the ones in our care, as well as the ones that continue to roam the mountains.

Bad hair day? Couldn’t be us 🐴.

Guinness is sporting his new halter, next to his new buddy. You’ll likely see these two friendly faces when you come visit our new facility.

We opened our gates this week to welcome a very special new arrival through an owner surrender. His elderly owner recently passed away, and the family made the difficult but loving decision to have him come to Appalachian Horse Center so he can continue to receive the care, safety, and attention he deserves.

You can tell this handsome boy was deeply loved. While this transition is a big change for him, we are committed to making sure he feels secure, comfortable, and cared for every step of the way.

Owner surrenders are never easy for families, especially during times of loss, and we appreciate the trust they placed in us to give him a soft landing and a bright future.

Please help us welcome this beautiful boy to the farm as he settles into his new chapter. ❤️🐴
