Before the Last Call Inc. Before the Last Call's Mission Statement

First Responders and Veterans are facing an epidemic. One that has led to an unacceptable number of suicides.

We are a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of American military, first responders, and their family members by partnering them with our horses . It is estimated that 400,000 First Responders and 540,000 Veterans have been diagnosed with PTS, with countless more who haven't been diagnosed. The invisible wounds and toll of their jobs have left our Nation's Heroes with ph

ysical and emotional scars that most of us could never understand. Our mission at Before the Last Call is to help these men, women, and heroes with this ongoing fight and to try to find another way to heal with the power of horses. About Dan

Daniel Jobin's relationship with horses goes all the way back to childhood. From age 8 he competed in several western events, taking home Grand Champion in and Reserve Champion in numerous Barrel Racing and Western Trail Riding events throughout Upstate New York. After graduating from Fairport High School, Dan became a Firefighter, EMT, and Paramedic, serving with distinction for 17 years in various agencies around the Rochester area. Throughout his years of service as a first-responder, he felt a calling to do even more for the community he served. His chance came on the heels of disaster. On Sept 9th, 2019 while commuting by motorcycle to the Laddermen’s MC annual 9/11 charity ride, a distracted driver cut Dan off. The ensuing crash put him in the hospital with fractures in just about every bone in his upper body, damaged vertebrae, and brain inflammation from the impact. His career as a first-responder was over in a flash. During the course of his nearly four year long recovery, Dan has pushed through the pain, rebuilding his physical ability, from ground zero. He realized there were many first-responders, and others, just like him who had experienced traumatic events and that putting one's self back together didn't just involve healing the body, the heart and mind were critical components to wholeness. Dan reconnected with his childhood love of horses. Striving to get back on his feet, he could never go back to firefighting. He soon realized he could serve the community in a different way: Share his love of these majestic animals with people of all abilities. He could start an Equine Therapeutic Program for First Responders and Veterans. The question was, where to start? Dan luckily found a little slice of Heaven on earth at Lone Oak Stables. Dan knew almost instantly Lone Oak was fertile ground for his Equine Therapeutic program. Dan currently runs the lesson programme at Lone Oak Stables and serves as Director of Before the Last Call, his Equine Therapy Program for First Responders, Veterans, Military and their families. He is also developing a Therapeutic Riding program for people of all abilities at the stables. He is a PATH International professional member and is certified as an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning and Veteran Resources for Certified Instructors. He plans to continue building his ability to facilitate by earning his Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor certification by Winter 2025. About the Program

Before the Last Call (BLC) is dedicated to saving the lives of American First Responders and Veterans. Through partnering Therapy Horses with struggling First Responders and Veterans. participants will experience a hands-on approach to therapeutic healing. The process of working with horses provides participants the ability to discover new ways to resolve conflict, control anger, form health boundaries, alleviate anxiety and stress, and build self-confidence. This process allows our horses to teach our participants to be present, and true to oneself and will build a cohesive relationship allowing barriers to break, communication to improve, and trust to grow.

Good morning.

For your consideration.

Our goal is to raise $1500 to facilitate this amazing opportunity for a couple of our combat veterans that will represent our club at this event and network with other great organizations that are successfully facilitating the types of experiences and inspiring life saving and life changing aspirations for veterans and can then help integrate with our community here.

Funds will be used for transportation of participants and horses, lodging and stalling, and if funds all the purchase of 2 Western Helmets verse using traditional helmets. If there is a blance of funds, those will be retained by the club to be used in our other like programs and events we will be facilitating in 2026.

Late last month we were informed we had the opportunity to have participants in the Horeos On Horses event at the Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, OH. To facilitate this experience we are asking for donations or sponsorships.

This event is for veterans or service members with service related disabilities that are actively participating with equine veteran programs. This program works with Path International and other various Equine Assisted Learning Programs to offer a platform to celebrate the positive impacts of horses on our Heroes.
(Please note that there are all types of disabilities, injuries, and/or illnesses that our Veterans and Service Members may encounter, not just PTSD).

Our two participants will be showing their provided horses in an arena on the railbat both the walk and trot, being judged and placed on their horsemanship and performance. They will attend a brunch that will allow additional networking opportunities that will allow them to share testimonies, forge camaraderie, and influence positive experiences! They will also get to attend the PBR event held on grounds during the congress before returning back home. Our participants are really excited and honored to be the first to represent our organization in this event.

We anticipate a successful 2025 experience and that this will be an experience we can share with more Service Members and Veterans next year. Please help us successfully incorporate this experience into our Club's opportunity offerings.

Horses can play a significant role in a veteran's healing journey.
Equine therapy can help warriors find a deeper connection to nature, animals, and inner peace. Warrior Scott Michael shared his experience with equine therapy at a recent connection event in Texas.

Today, on , we honor the brave men and women who were wounded or killed in combat while serving our nation. Each Purple Heart tells a story of sacrifice, of courage under fire, of selfless service, and of the high cost of freedom.

At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we are honored to serve many of these heroes and their families. Their strength inspires everything we do.

To all Purple Heart recipients: we see you, we thank you, and we will never forget your sacrifice. 💜🇺🇸

A soldier with PTSD fell into a hole and couldn’t get out. When a SNCO walked by the Soldier called out for help, but the SNCO yelled back, "Suck it up son, dig deep and drive on," then threw him a shovel. The Soldier did as he was told and dug that hole deeper.

A Senior Officer went by and the Soldier called out for help again. The Officer told him "use the tools your SNCO has given you", then threw him a bucket. The Soldier used the tools and he dug the hole deeper still and filled the bucket.

A psychiatrist walked by. The Soldier called, “Help! I can’t get out!” so the psychiatrist gave him some drugs and said, "Take this. It will relieve the pain and you will forget about the hole.” The Soldier said "thanks" and followed his advice, but when the pills ran out he was still in the hole.

A well-known psychologist rode by and heard the Soldiers cries for help. He stopped and asked, “How did you get there? Were you born there? Did your parents put you there? Tell me about yourself, it will alleviate your sense of loneliness.” So the Soldier talked with him for an hour, then the psychologist had to leave, but he said he’d be back next week. The Soldier thanked him, but he was still in the hole.

Another Soldier , just like him, happened to be passing by. The Soldier with PTSD cried out, “Hey, help me. I’m stuck in this hole!” and right away the other Soldier jumped down in there with him. The Soldier with PTSD started to panic and said, “What are you doing? Now we’re both stuck down here!” But the other Soldier just smiled and replied, “It’s okay, calm down, brother. I’ve been here before..... I know how to get out.”

No matter what you're going through, you are never alone.

don't be too proud to SHOUT OUT!, 'HELP I'm stuck in this Hole' …...
