If you have pets or have a loved one that does, PLEASE do not buy dog treats made in China. Unfortunately, that covers just about every dog treat sold in Walmart or Target.
More than 700 pets have died in recent years from ingesting treats and rawhides from China. The FDA is aware of this and has investigated, but the issue is so widespread that they can not trace the toxic source to a single factory and therefore can not issue a recall or warning.
So PLEASE do not buy the following dog treats.

If you are buying presents for your dogs or a loved one's dog, please remember that rawhide bones sold in stores are not a good idea.
You can pick up some yummy treats at Kona Butcher Shop and Waimea Butcher Shop or buy butcher bones for dogs in the frozen food section of Foodland.
