Our special Cochin hen - named Gaga - has been our daughter’s favorite hen and she has probably met a lot of you at our farm. Gaga raised orphan chicks, ducks and guineas and to some degree our daughter. Sadly, Gaga passed away this morning. Looking back at 8 years of fond memories. Feel free to share your special chickens here too 🩷💔🐓

Hello from the farm - we are sold out of pullets for the March 7th & April 11th pickup dates, however should we have cancellations, we will post the pulletsonline and our webpage. The good news is that we will have pullets in May. We should know when soon (based on NPIP hatchery availability) when the pickup day will be and will post here and update www.sunriseoakfarm.com when we know. As always, our chicks only come from an NPIP “national poultry improvement plan” certified Hatchery, certified avian influenza and salmonella free. Chicks are vaccinated against Mareks disease and coccidiosis there then shipped to our farm. We raise our chicks from two days of age to 2-4 months old pullets. We keep biosecurity in mind, especially this year. Stay well and hope to see you this spring.

Looking forward to our first pullet pickup of 2025, this Friday January 31st. We have boxes for your pullets to travel home in. They are eating Nutrena Naturewise (non-medicated) chick starter. You can feed them this diet, or something similar, but please make sure it’s non medicated. Your pullets are vaccinated for Mareks and Coccidiosis.
