PSA‼️

I just went to the bathroom and NONE of my dogs followed me.

This is the FIRST time i’ve gone to the restroom alone since owning my dachshunds.

No bodyguards.
No emotional support dachshund.
No tiny face pressed against the door like I’m never coming back.

So now I’m just… unattended??
Left alone with my thoughts??
Like some kind of peasant??

Interesting choice, Weenies. Very interesting.

Don’t worry though—
I’ll remember this the next time someone wants to sit on my lap, steal my blanket, or inspect my snack a little too closely.

The audacity. The disrespect. The silence. 😤🐾

Fun Doxie Fact 🐶✨
Dachshunds may be small, but they have one of the loudest barks for their size! That deep, bold bark helped hunters locate them while they were working underground. It’s also why today’s doxies make such great little watchdogs — always alert, always confident, and never afraid to use their voice! 💛

🐾 Puppy Safety PSA – The First 16 Weeks Matter 🐾

Bringing home a new puppy is exciting — and those first weeks are so important!
Even though your puppy has started vaccines, their immune system is still developing until their final puppy shots (around 16 weeks of age).

Most serious puppy illnesses happen after puppies go home, simply from early exposure and stress.

Please avoid until vaccines are complete:
❌ Pet stores
❌ Dog parks & public parks
❌ Vet office floors (carry puppy in & out)
❌ Rest stops & sidewalks
❌ Playdates with unknown or unvaccinated dogs

🦠 Viruses like parvo can live in soil and on surfaces for months or years— even when you can’t see them.

Safe socialization DOES still happen!
✔ Visiting trusted friends’ homes
✔ Meeting fully vaccinated, healthy adult dogs
✔ Car rides, strollers, wagons, or being carried in public
✔ New sounds, surfaces, and handling at home

Go-home transition tips:
• Keep puppy on the same food for at least 2 weeks
• Avoid sudden diet changes
• Limit visitors the first few days
• Keep routines calm and predictable
• Consider a canine probiotic to support gut health during this transition

💡 Stress alone can cause loose stools, appetite changes, and immune dips in young puppies.

Important reminder:
Early vaccines help build immunity — they don’t fully protect yet.

👉 When in doubt:
If unknown dogs have been there, your puppy shouldn’t be.

A few weeks of caution helps protect a lifetime of health ❤️

💰 Let’s Talk Deposits (aka the most misunderstood part of buying a puppy) 🐶

If you see a breeder asking for a deposit and immediately think “SCAM!” — take a breath 😅

A deposit is not a scam. It’s actually pretty standard and here’s why 👇🏼

✨ A deposit:
• Shows you’re serious (not just “asking for a friend”)
• Helps us plan pairings, waitlists, and placements
• Protects breeders from last-minute ghosting 👻
• Reserves that puppy so someone else doesn’t snag them

🚩 Scams DO exist, but the red flags are things like:
• No contract
• No health testing or vet care info
• No transparency
• No proof of pups, parents, or past buyers

A reputable breeder will:
✔️ Communicate clearly
✔️ Provide contracts & receipts
✔️ Answer questions (even the repetitive ones 😅)
✔️ Be invested in where their puppies go

So no—asking for a deposit isn’t shady.
It’s called running a responsible breeding program, not Walmart checkout 🛒

If someone wants a “no deposit, first come first serve, meet in a gas station” situation…
that’s probably not the breeder for you anyway 😉
