As we all prepare for the easy, breezy transition of Fall 🍂 we are taking the time to reflect back.

During the month of August, we were kept busy with many vacation stays and drop-in visits! With the transition to Fall, we are now accepting new Weekly Regular clients! Perfect for those of you who work away from the home during the week! Your dog can get mid-day relief and have fun with playtime or a walk during the middle of the day. 🐾

We’re excited to recognize Becky, as our Team Member of the Month! Check out our post from earlier that highlights all things Becky! We also welcomed three new team members: Sam, Ashley, and Melissa! 🎉

This past month we received new reviews on both our Facebook platform and on Google, achieving 211 reviews on Google and 214 reviews on Facebook! 💎 If you haven’t left a review for us, we would greatly appreciate the support! ⭐️ We will be heading into September with 2,075 followers on Instagram and 6,639 likes on Facebook. 💙

🐾Team Member of the Month: Becky!🐾

We’re so excited to recognize Becky as our Team Member of the Month! 💜Becky is a wonderful pet care sitter who goes above and beyond for her clients and their fur babies. We’re so grateful to have her on our team! 🐶🐱

🍂 A little seasonal reminder: As we transition into fall, Becky’s availability will be becoming more limited. If you’re one of Becky’s returning clients and would like to request her for upcoming care, we recommend reaching out sooner rather than later to help ensure she’s available!

Thank you, Becky, for all that you do! 🥰🐾

My name is Melissa and I am a Certified Professional Pet Care Specialist with Fur Baby Comfort & Care, a professional pet sitting business that prides itself on providing peace of mind to Fur Baby owners. I’ve been caring for pets since I was twelve years old, proudly serving as the neighborhood pet sitter (and babysitter) long before I began my career as a teacher. Over the past three years, I’ve returned to pet sitting for friends and neighbors, rediscovering how much joy I find in supporting families and their beloved animals. My background includes teaching, coaching, and working with competitive dancers—experiences that have shaped me into a patient, compassionate, and dependable caregiver. I’m someone with a genuinely big heart for animals, and I treat every pet in my care with the same love and attention I give my own. Outside of pet care, I enjoy reading, baking, and traveling with my family. At home, my life is full and lively thanks to my husband, our two teenage daughters, two golden doodles, and two guinea pigs. When your Fur Baby is with me, you can trust that they’ll be cared for as if they were part of my own family.  I look forward to working with you soon!

Bird migration is already starting to increase across the United States. Over the next several weeks, we expect to see Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds begin their trek southward for the winter season.

Roscoe: The Gentleman Left Behind 💛🐾
Meet Roscoe — 8 years old and learning that goodbye wasn’t his choice.
Roscoe’s owner recently passed away and now he finds himself here, at an overcrowded shelter looking for a new forever family. He had a home. He had a person. He had a bed that smelled like someone who loved him. Then the door closed one last time and didn’t open again. Now he’s in a loud kennel, surrounded by strangers, wondering what he did wrong. He didn’t. The world just kept going without him.
Roscoe is a shy, timid, but sweet boy overall. He won’t rush the gate to meet you. He’ll hang back, head low, eyes hopeful but unsure. Is it safe? Are you kind? Can he trust you not to leave too? Sit on the floor. Talk softly. Offer a treat with patience. Watch his tail give one slow, careful wag. That’s Roscoe saying “maybe.” And “maybe” from him is everything. When he decides you’re safe, he’s gentle. He leans. He sighs. He looks at you like you’re the first good thing he’s seen in weeks.
Roscoe is on several medications for a skin infection. Adopter needs to be aware and can contact us for info on this. It’s being treated. He’s on the mend. But he’ll need a family who sees vet visits and meds not as a burden, but as part of loving an old soul. He’s not “damaged goods.” He’s a senior who needs care. Call us — we’ll walk you through everything. His comfort is worth it.
Roscoe is, simply put, a sweet older gent that is looking for a quiet and loving home where he will get the love and care he deserves. No chaos. No kids climbing on him. No other pets pushing him around unless it’s the right match. He needs soft beds. Short walks. Predictable days. A person who understands that 8 years old isn’t “old” — it’s distinguished. It’s grateful. It’s still plenty of time to love and be loved.
He hasn’t had the best few weeks. Losing your person will do that. But he’s still here. Still sweet. Still hoping someone walks in and sees him — not the skin issues, not the gray muzzle, not the fear — but the dog who just wants to feel safe again.

Roscoe’s Details:
Age: 8 years old
Status: Owner passed away | Senior | Ready for adoption
Vibe: Shy, timid, sweet, gentle, grateful soul
Loves: Quiet companionship, soft beds, gentle pets, routine, feeling safe
Needs: Calm adult home, patience, medical follow-up for skin, love, stability
Notes: On meds for skin infection — contact us for details. Unknown with kids/pets
Promise: A loyal, tender old gent who will love you quietly and completely.

My name is Sam and I am a Certified Professional Pet Care Specialist with Fur Baby Comfort & Care, a professional pet sitting business that prides itself on providing peace of mind to Fur Baby owners. I grew up with dogs and cats so caring for animals has always come naturally for me. I currently have a Doberman Lab mix named Scout who keeps me active with her high energy. Having a high energy and reactive dogs, I’ve gained experience with the importance of mental enrichment, exercise, and understanding pets have individual needs and personalities. Whether your fur babies enjoy walks (sniff and long walks!), playtime, cuddles, or just having someone nearby, I’m committed to make them feel safe and loved while providing detailed updates to you while you’re away. In my free time, I enjoy reading, trying new restaurants, and staying active.
