With the help of many local rescues, we have been able to place most of our dogs under the watch of wonderful folks to see them through to their forever home. However, we have 2 of the best girls that are looking for adoption as soon as possible!

Rain and Watermelon are long overdue to find their forever homes and we hope to make this happen very soon! Both Rain and Watermelon have sponsored adoption fees and $300 worth of donations for training to be gifted to their adoptive families.

Now, a little more about these sweet girls…..

🌼Rain is a young Basenji-mix who might just be the whole package. She is a small girl with the biggest heart. She is house trained, crate trained, no resource guarding, quiet in the home, sleeps through the night, and loves kids. Talk about a lover-girl! And bonus, she has an underbite that will always brighten your day. Every foster home she has been in has said she is an absolute dream to have at home. We can’t rave about her enough!

🍉Watermelon is a 4-year old 75 pound American Bully mix that is all personality. She is a silly girl who brings a smile to everyone’s face. Lovingly nicknamed “Melon,” she is crate trained and 99% of the way to being fully house trained. She is only a few inches off the ground, but her round body loves a good belly rub so be prepared for that! Please note that Watermelon would prefer to be your only pet at home 🩷 Watermelon will also be featured on 7/16 on WMAR-2 News, so be sure to tune in!

Ella is a gorgeous 2 year old mixed breed (we're open to guesses about what she might be a mix of!) that weighs about 30lbs. She is full of fun, joy, and has never met a stranger! She just gets so excited to see her people--and who wouldn't want that??

🎉Exciting Everest update 🎉 As many of you probably saw, Everest’s foster mom gathered donations to help diagnose and treat his ongoing GI issues. With the generous donations of so many, they were able to figure out what was going on and he is happily on his way back to great health!

Now that his health is back on track to make a great recovery, let’s talk about why you should adopt him. To put it simply: Everest is a total catch. This handsome guy is house-trained, can be left home alone without any worry of getting into something, and has only love in his heart. He is a 2 year old hound mix that loves the simple things in life: lounging, laying in the sun, and being with his family.

🌲Everest is the perfect mix of a total goof and couch potato. Don't let the serious pictures fool you--he just loves a photo-op! He is ready to complete anyone’s family. (As long as belly rubs are included!!)

🍉It's almost the Dog Days of Summer ... cool off with Watermelon! 🍉

If you’ve had the opportunity to meet Watermelon, you know what love at first sight is. Only a few inches off the ground, she commands a presence, and boy does she get one. This girl has a fan club, and it’s for a good reason!

Lovingly nicknamed “Melon,” she is a 4 year old 75 pound American Bully. She is crate trained and working diligently on house training—she promises to be house trained in no time! With the help of a generous donor, Watermelon comes with a $300 gift to help her adjust your new life together with the help of a trainer and a waived adoption fee!

Watermelon came to CHN seeking care and a new life. You would never know that she had a hard start. She is ready to turn things around and be the faithful companion everyone is looking for.

FYI: Rio and Teddy are still available for adoption! These gentleman have moved to other nearby rescues, but have the same goal as always: finding a loving and forever home.

Hi! My name is Nike and I'm probably the cutest dog you've ever met - or at least that's what everyone tells me. But I'm also super smart! I know sit, touch, stay (I'm really good at that one), and I kind of know down by only if you have some treats. Look, I know all dogs love treats but I'm kind of obsessed with them, if you've got my favorite ones. I'll do just about anything. You can also leave me alone whenever you want, and I won't chew any of your stuff - I'm super respectful like that.

As for my hobbies - I looooove getting the zoomies before bed, and playing blanket peek-a-boo (don't worry - I'll teach it to you). And I'm a super good snuggler so I hope you'll let me crash on your bed - you won't regret it! Oh, if you have a Rita's near you that's extra points too…I should be given at least one pup-cup per day.

I know this all makes me sound perfect, but I do have a couple things I'm working on. My foster dad is trying to help me not be so afraid of strangers, but some of them are seriously scary! I've been working hard on it though, and I now have lots and lots of friends. Basically, if a person gives me treats, I know they're a friend - which is how it should be with everything! I'm still really scared of other dogs though, so I'd rather be the only one in my new home, please and thanks.

I also have something my foster dad called “OCD” or something. I don't know what that means but he said it's why I chase my tail a lot. I don't care what it's called…I just know I love doing it!

But look, the bottom line is that I'm super cute and smart and everyone kind of loves me…and you will to - promise!
