Make sure your outdoor animals have air movement and fresh water OFTEN today. Please if they don't have shade, make them some. It's not easy but it is possible. Animals will die today without proper care.
**Plastic dog houses are NOT shade** they reach oven high temperatures with zero air circulation.
Rabbits love frozen water bottles to lie against and the heat is SO hard on them. Chickens will stand in cool water and love frozen peas and corn. Pigs need a mud hole or a pool to cool down. Dogs...just bring them in, please. My stinky outdoor dogs are all in our boot room and grateful.
Please please don't take your pets in the car if there's even a moment you will have to leave them unattended. Just let them stay home, they'd prefer that today anyway.
Please please please be mindful of where you babies and kiddos are. Hot cars and bodies of water KILL babies every day. Life jackets save lives. DON'T LEAVE YOUR KIDS IN THE CAR

****My outdoor livestock have makeshift shade tarps with a mister that will run the entire day along with three fans to circulate the air. Instead of their typical 4-5 watering stations and pools, we have 8 now. More work, yes. Do I feel better about the extreme temps today, absolutely. ****
