Vermont Yorkies

Vermont Yorkies We specialize in Yorkies and Shorkies. My husband died in March 2018 & I started buying dogs, I guess to fill my emptiness. Sooo by August, I had eight dogs.

About “3 Black Puppies”
I was recently asked to tell someone about our business, so I thought I would write up a small bio. I wasn’t really in my right mind you understand, grief will do that to you. We already had Mona, our purebred Emotional Support Shih Tzu, and it wasn’t long before the dogs started arriving. First came Bubba, CKC registered purebred Shih Tzu. Then Cinnamon & Nutmeg (AKC), pu

rebred Yorkies; Next Salt & Pepper (4lb purebred Yorkies), then Wolfe & Bear. Mona 2014 Bubba 01/31/18 Cinnamon 02/17/18 Nutmeg 2/13/2018

My kids said “STOP”. So I did. But then I had a great idea…I could breed Yorkies !! What a circus this house was…I didn’t know what I was doing at first. So in November 2018, my little Salt was obviously pregnant. I just assumed it was Pepper, my other 4lb yorkie….if only that were true. I realized I needed to submit samples for testing…., OH NO NO NO !!! It was not Pepper, no no it was Bubba, my jet black 15 lb Bubba. But the 3 beautiful jet black shorkie babies born on 12/5/2018, is how our name “3 Black Puppies” came about. In November 2019, Cinnamon was obviously pregnant, and I was sure it would have been Nutmeg’s doing as she previously had a litter of six with Nutmeg (5/26/2019)…..But just to be sure I tested !! No No No not Nutmeg !! GUESS WHO !! At that point I realized needed to be neutralized so I would only have purebred yorkie studs on site impregnating my yorkie females. And neutered he was!! So we kept Sugar (12/5/2018 ) and Ginger (11/25/2019) out of our shorkie litters. While we were waiting for Pepper to come into his own, Cinnamon & Nutmeg had another litter on May 14, 2021, of which we kept CC. Sugar Ginger CC
And then brought in some new purebred yorkie breeding stock from the outside in September of 2021, George & Miss Billie. George July 2021 Miss Billie

Nutmeg & Salt are retired. So our breeding stock consists of:
Purebred Yorkie Females Cinnamon, CC, and Miss Billie
Purebred Yorkie Males Pepper & George
Shorkies (Cinnamon & Bubba parents) Ginger & Sugar

Our onsite Emotional Support Staff consists of Mona & Bubba, and Wolfe & Bear. And let’s not forget our Rescues: Roscoe, Rocky & Binelli. This is who we are and this is my happy place.
