🥶 Freeze reminder: cold weather kills pets🥶 Dog houses do NOT provide adequate protection from freezing temperatures, wind, or hypothermia. Frozen water bowls and exposure can be deadly. 🦶 If it’s too cold for YOUR bare feet, it’s too cold for your pet’s feet. 🐶🐱 Please bring dogs, cats, and other pets indoors during freezes. ⚠️ If a pet absolutely must be outdoors short-term, minimum safety measures include:
💧 constant access to UNfrozen water
🏗️ an insulated, wind-blocked shelter raised OFF the ground
🌾 dry bedding such as straw or cedar shavings (NOT towels or blankets that absorb moisture and freeze)
🍖 extra calories
👀 frequent monitoring

🥶These steps reduce risk but do NOT replace indoor shelter.🥶
