Pioneers for Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Inc., is a 501(c)(3) not for profit, 100% volunteer NYS corporation which has been operating on Long Island for over 40 years. We are working to create a better welfare system for all the animals in our communities. Over the years, we created, and continue to create, a number of valuable programs which serve to promote our mission to create respect for a

ll animals, to educate individuals about animals, to help people keep their animals, and to provide assistance with the control of the animal population on Long Island. PAWS has many programs which are helpful in achieving our goals. Some of our programs include:
- Foster based rescue program
-Low-cost spay/neuter program
- Trap-Neuter-Return (“TNR”) Program
- Free spay/neuter program for felines
- Humane Education Program
- Animal care outreach
- Food pantries outreach
- Pet therapy program
- Senior animal placement program

- Seniors with Animals Project (SWAP)

Please spread the word for this lost cat. Princeton was LOST on September 6, 2025 in South Huntington, NY 11746 near Coe Place/Candy Lane/Wolf Hill Road Near St Anthonys HS, St Elizabeths Church and Birchwood Elementary Sch

Message from Owner: REWARD: Pls help- he was a rescue from the streets when he was a kitten- he has never been outdoors- he wondered from the hse 9/6. HE hates his collar and took it off few days ago. He is very sweet

Description: Pure black with green eyes- very soft coat; no collar and not sure if chipped 7 yrs old. He is not fat but is solid

This sleeping beauty is Rusty 🐾. Once a friendly feral, she was taken in by a local police station, where the officers have lovingly cared for her. Now, Rusty deserves the chance to experience the comfort of a real home.

✨ About Rusty:
• 💕 Sweet but shy with strangers
• 🐱 5 years old, petite at just 9 lbs
• ✂️ Spayed & UTD on vaccines

Our current foster cannot keep her much longer, and we desperately need someone to step up. Without a foster, we can only assume Rusty’s fate.

This morning, sweet Grandpa was picked up from the shelter and is now on his way to his foster home! Grandpa is finally getting the second chance he deserves.
