Just popping in to say that our little one was born last week on the 12th! He’s still in the NICU for now to get his blood sugars regulated but making progress every day, and we are very hopeful that he will be out and home with us within the next week or two! I’m so thankful to everyone who has reached out to check on us. I did end up having to get a c-section, so I will keep everyone updated on when I will be back in action as I adjust to my new life as a momma and get all healed up! Thank you everyone for the support and I’ll miss all of the pups while I’m gone!! 💙

Back at home finally as of yesterday!! I’m going to be taking the rest of this week off to make sure my blood pressures stay stable, and give me a few days to rest and recover a bit more. My husband and I are working up a game plan for me to be able to still take some dogs the rest of this month, but since I will be very limited on what I can do, we are trying to figure out what those specific limits will be and how much I can actually work. I will be touching base with everyone that is scheduled this month and that was scheduled this past week and letting them know what our plan is once we figure it out over the next few days! Thank you for the support and patience while we navigate through all my health issues ❤️

Just wanted to come on here and give an update. After not feeling very good and having some really high blood pressure readings, I was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon and diagnosed with superimposed preeclampsia. For the last few days we’ve been trying to get everything under control and stable. We’re finally at a decent level, but I will be here for at least the next few days for continued monitoring and adjusting meds. We are taking things day by day, and when/if I get to come home I will be mostly on strict rest, maybe very light work on small dogs only if I end up being able to work at all in order to keep my pressures as low as possible. Today and over the weekend will be the true tests on if I am able to return to work or if I have to start my maternity leave early for myself and Nugget’s safety. Please keep our little family in your thoughts, and I will update everyone accordingly as I know more information! Thank you! ❤️

A little update for everyone! 29 weeks along, and our little nugget is safe and sound. ❤️ Not too much longer until we get to meet our boy!!

My body, however, hasn’t been treating me too kindly lately, especially with the swollen feet, aching hips and stiff numb carpal tunnel hands. It’s gotten to the point where my hands are numb and rigid in the mornings, and it makes grooming very hard some days, especially when I have a lot of brushing, drying, or clipper work to do. It’s due to all this that I am going to have to continue to cut back on work if I want to be able to make it to May still working.

Starting the week of April the 6th, I will have to drop down to small and medium breeds only for full grooms, and only larger dogs that are either short haired bath dogs or very simple haircuts that can be done with my smaller clippers so I don’t have to grip onto tools for as long. My poor hands are in pain even on days off, and I know that I’m gonna have to ease up if I want to continue to make it to May and still be working. I’ll be reaching out to anyone that is still on the schedule for April that this may affect, but if you don’t hear from me, you can assume that we are still good for grooming!

I really appreciate everyone’s kindness and patience as I’ve adjusted through growing my little one. Having a baby isn’t always easy, but the willingness to adapt from all my clients has made it a much easier process to handle ❤️

Much love to all my clients and their furry babies
- Sierra (and my very numb fingers)

💥IMPORTANT UPDATES 💥

In order to prepare and give myself some grace as I get ready to become a mom in a few months, I will be implementing some changes to better support my needs at the moment! I’ve been experiencing high blood pressure in my second trimester, as well as a lot of lower back and hip pain, which makes grooming a lot harder than prepregnancy!

To give myself a bit of relief, I will be spacing out my schedule to take on a max of 3-4 dogs a day, which may eliminate my ability to take on any last minute bookings as my schedule will be booking a bit further out than usual.

I will no longer be able to accomate early drop offs as I will be taking breaks in between clients to give myself a moment to rest, so I kindly ask that clients do not arrive more than 5-10 minutes prior to their their scheduled appointment times!

With all the changes to my body, I am unfortunately having to refer a lot of my larger clients out to other groomers. For foreseeble future I will only be able to take on large dogs that are well acclimated and calm during the grooming process to avoid any extra strain or potential injury to my body as I get further along, and I wont be able to take any XL breeds at least until atter maternity leave is over depending on my recovery! I will be contacting everyone individually in the coming weeks if I feel like your pup may need to be referred elsewhere!

My due date is June 2nd, but I have been informed that I may be getting induced as early as mid May. I ask for flexibility and grace from everyone as I work around my copious amounts of doctors visits and trying to keep myself pain free and healthy for the remainder of my pregnancy!

Thank you everyone for your continued support! ❤️🐩🐾

Looking for somebody trustworthy to watch over your pets while you are away on vacation? Need a quick walk for your dog while you are at work or out of town?

My husband Sean is now taking bookings for pet sitting and dog walking services! He will be offering drop in day service in your home, walks and outings for dogs, as well as sitting services for cats and others pets! No overnight or boarding service at this time.

In addition to all the years of experience he has caring for our own furry crew of 7, Sean has 2 years of experience at an animal shelter as a kennel tech, as well as being my handy assistant in my salon to help keep your pups happy and calm during the grooming process!

If you are in need of someone reliable and kind to watch over your babies, feel free to send a request through his booking link listed below, or get in contact with me and I’d be happy to get you in touch with him!

All my life I've loved and been involved with animals! I own 7 animals - 2 large dogs and 5 cats! For two years I worked at the Catawba County Humane Society as a kennel technician for both dogs and cats, and always enjoyed working with a variety of personalities and sizes of animals.
