Remembering Katrina

Katrina Cottom was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and a woman whose faith touched so many lives.

Born in Burley, Idaho, on October 4, 1973, Katrina spent her life building a family, serving others, and sharing her love for the Lord. She married her high school sweetheart, Tim, in 1993, and together they shared 33 years of marriage and raised their children.

Katrina had a heart for people. She served as an AWANA teacher and youth leader and, alongside Tim, helped create the I.M.P.A.C.T. ministry in their home. She loved welcoming people into her home, spending time with family, being outdoors, racing, side-by-side adventures, shooting, and—most of all—making people laugh. She was known for her kindness, wisdom, hospitality, beautiful smile, and unforgettable sense of humor.

In July 2026, Katrina was diagnosed with cancer after having no idea she was sick. She fought courageously for three short weeks, holding tightly to her faith until she passed away on August 11, 2026, at just 52 years old.

Her life may have been cut far too short, but the love she gave, the people she served, the laughter she shared, and the faith she lived will continue through everyone who knew her.

Please keep Katrina’s family in your prayers as they navigate this heartbreaking loss and the unexpected expenses that come with it. If you are able to help, every donation is deeply appreciated.

❤️ A Personal Update ❤️

I wanted to let everyone know that I will be unavailable for the entire week.

My fiancé’s mom is currently on life support and in extremely critical condition. Tomorrow, the family will be receiving more information and may have to make the incredibly difficult decisions.

Right now, my place is with my fiancé and his family. I’m so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, especially to my clients who may need to reschedule. I truly appreciate your patience, understanding, prayers, and kindness during this incredibly difficult time.

❤️ A Little Update ❤️

I wanted to let my clients know that I will not be working tomorrow, and I may also need to take Tuesday and Wednesday off as well.

My fiancé’s mom, Katrina, is currently very sick and fighting for her life. She is a wife, a mother, a woman of faith, and someone who means so much to our family. Right now, our focus is on being there for her and our family.

I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and I truly appreciate your understanding and patience while we navigate this.

If anyone feels called to help, donations toward Katrina and her family are gratefully welcomed, but please know that prayers, love, and sharing her story mean just as much to us. 🙏🏻

First, I just want to say thank you. ❤️ Whether you’ve been with me for years or just recently found me, I truly appreciate every one of you. Thank you for trusting me with your pups, for your kindness, your patience, and your support. I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of you.

I wanted to share a few important updates.

🐾 My schedule is changing.
Beginning immediately, I will only be grooming on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. As many of you know, I’m recently engaged (🎉) and I’m also taking some time to focus on healing after injuring my hip. Cutting back my schedule is the best decision for both my health and my family.

🐾 Some clients will not be rescheduled.
With fewer available appointments, I unfortunately won’t be able to continue grooming everyone. Most of my current clients will remain on my schedule, but there will be some who I won’t be able to rebook moving forward. This wasn’t an easy decision, and I truly appreciate everyone’s understanding.

🐾 We’re switching back to Cuddles.
After trying MoGo, I’ve decided to move back to Cuddles. I’ve experienced too many issues with missed text reminders, appointment notifications, and communication. Cuddles has always worked reliably for my business, and with a smaller client list, it’s the better fit.

✨ A Little Schedule Update ✨

To all of my amazing Dilly Dally Grooming clients—thank you for trusting me with your pups. Your support means more than you know. ❤️

Over the past several months, my schedule has become completely full which I am beyond grateful for! But Because I’m managing an ongoing hip injury & working on building a family & planning a wedding I’ll be making a change to help protect my health and continue providing the quality, one-on-one care your dogs deserve.

Beginning in September, I’ll be grooming three days a week instead of my current 4-5 day schedule.

With fewer appointment days available, I’ll be prioritizing my consistent, regularly scheduled clients. This means I’ll be reducing or discontinuing appointments for clients who book only occasionally or are not on a recurring schedule.

I truly wish I could take everyone. One of the biggest reasons I started Dilly Dally Grooming was to provide a calm, one-on-one experience and help keep pets out of loud, busy salons. It breaks my heart knowing I can’t continue to accommodate everyone, but I have to make choices that allow me to take care of both myself and the dogs I groom.

🚨 FOUND DOG 🚨

This sweet little pup wandered into our shop this morning absolutely terrified and running loose. She is now safe and comfortable with me at Dilly Dally Grooming.

She does not have a collar, tags, or any form of identification. Based on the way her coat is growing out, she appears to have been groomed before and likely belongs to someone nearby.

If this is your dog or you know who she belongs to, please send me a message as soon as possible. To ensure she goes home to the correct family, I will ask for proof of ownership and identifying details.

Let’s get this sweet girl back where she belongs! ❤️🐾

🇺🇸🎆 Fourth of July Pet Safety Reminder 🎆🇺🇸

The Fourth of July is one of the busiest days of the year for lost pets. Loud fireworks, visitors coming and going, and outdoor celebrations can be overwhelming for our furry family members.

🐾 Help keep your pets safe by:

✅ Making sure collars and ID tags are on and up to date
✅ Checking that microchip information is current
✅ Keeping pets indoors in a secure area during fireworks
✅ Double-checking gates, doors, and fences before guests arrive
✅ Providing a quiet, comfortable space away from the noise
✅ Exercising your dog earlier in the day to help reduce stress
✅ Keeping BBQ foods, alcohol, glow sticks, fireworks, and sparklers out of reach
✅ Making sure fresh water is always available

💊 If your pet struggles with anxiety during fireworks, talk to your veterinarian BEFORE the holiday. Please do not self-medicate your pets with human medications or medications not specifically prescribed for them. Some medications can be dangerous or even life-threatening.

❤️ A little preparation can prevent a lot of stress and help ensure your pet stays safe, comfortable, and home where they belong.

🌾 Foxtail Season Is Here! 🌾

I’ve already started seeing foxtails coming in on dogs, and I wanted to remind everyone how dangerous these little grass seeds can be. Their barbed shape allows them to burrow into your dog’s paws, ears, eyes, nose, and skin—and once they’re in, they don’t simply work their way back out.

⚠️ Watch for:
• Excessive licking or chewing at paws
• Head shaking or ear scratching
• Sneezing
• Swelling, redness, or draining sores
• Squinting or eye discharge

🐾 One of the best ways to help prevent problems is to check your dog after walks and keep up with regular grooming. I pay close attention to paws, ears, and other areas where foxtails commonly hide.

If you notice any of these signs, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. Foxtails can migrate deeper into the body and may require medical treatment to remove.

A little prevention now can save your pet a lot of discomfort later! 🌾🐶💚
