The West River Veterinary Clinic, PC (WRVC) is a full service veterinary clinic serving North and South Dakota. We are a mixed animal practice employing five veterinarians: Dr. Henderson, Dr. Johnson, Dr. Innes, Dr. Lensing and Dr. Vailes. Our three large animal veterinarians provide a variety of services including ultrasounding, pregnancy checking, bangs vaccinating, fertility testing, herd heal

th consulting, and much more. The WRVC is also a Fore-Most provider offering many types of chutes, headgates, calf tables, panels and tub and alley systems. We have the area’s largest selection of animal health care products including vaccines, antibiotics, calving supplies, pour ons and fly tags. Check out our supply of Hauptner, Roux and Allflex vaccine guns. We also carry replacement part for all three vaccine guns. For those who need to treat on the prairie we carry Medi-Dart and Cap-Chur products. Along with large animal care the WRVC provides many small animal services including boarding and grooming. Surgeries, such as spays and neuters, are performed on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Grooming services by Myranda are offered daily. We are excited about the line of Lupine collars, leashes and harnesses we now offer. Lupine products are made of exceptional quality, are very affordable and come in a large array of colors and patterns. Best of all, Lupine products are guaranteed even if chewed! The West River Veterinary Clinic in Hettinger, ND has openings for a full-time receptionists AND large animal assistants, to accommodate our expanding business. WRVC not only has a great staff, facility, and equipment; but we also place a high priority on a balanced work and family life.
The receptionist position predominately involves greeting and serving clients and their pets, answering the telephone and scheduling appointments.
The large animal assistants spends the majority of their time working out in the country with livestock, operating hydraulic chutes, vaccinating cattle, and assisting in day-to-day operations at the clinic.

As many have heard, there is a shortage on Bangs vaccine. As a result, the ND State Board of Animal Health has temporarily extended the age requirement for heifer brucellosis vaccination from 12 months to 14 months. WRVC is hard at work with our suppliers to make sure we have enough vaccine on hand to cover our clients needs.
Along those lines, the USDA also passed the rule requiring EID tags in all cattle needing an official ID. As of November 5, 2024, EID tags are required and metal tags will no longer be put in as official ID's. There is a lot of misinformation being spread and we have received a lot of questions, so we wanted to try to clear up some of the common myths we have heard:
