Two additional courtesy post: due to ailing health and family needing to be away from their residence most of the day with work and taking care of a family member needs, we have 2 dogs thay need the best possible placement

Spark is a 9 year old mini shar pei. She may be a tad bit older but has that loving puppy energy. She is looking for a home to live out her golden years. House trained, spayed, I believe needs utd on shots which the family will handle at your vet of choice. She like other dogs, cats unknown, and older kids.

Kimber is a 6 year old German shepherd. She picks her person an will velcro herself to them. She loves to run a fenced in yard but inside a home she will grumble but not aggressively when another dog comes towards the person she sitting with. She like other dogs, loves to chase but not hurt cats and absolutely loves kids and is beyond gentle. She does very well-off leash and will not stray away from you. Fetch and cuddle time are her favorite. She does know basic obedience

Rescues, if you have approved adopter looking for these breeds,.please send js a message. 💔

This is a courtesy post.

A 9-year-old female, spayed Miniature Shar-Pei is seeking a new home due to her owner's illness, which prevents them from providing the care she requires. She is house-trained, coexists well with other dogs, and has had exposure to cats, though her preference for feline companionship is undetermined. She is cream-colored and weighs approximately 25-30 lbs.

Prospective adopters are requested to submit a message to our page, including their name, phone number, a list of current pets in the household, and a veterinary reference. Photo will be posted in the comments.

☘️🌈 It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day and we’re hoping the Luck of the Irish shines on US! 🌈☘️

We may not have pots of gold, but we do have paws, purrs, wagging tails, and hearts FULL of love just waiting for a forever home. 🐾💚

This St. Paddy’s season, we’re wishing for something even better than four-leaf clovers… a family to call our own. 🏡✨

🍀 All adoption fees are FULLY SPONSORED! 🍀

That means you can bring home your new best friend without spending your gold coins!

If you’re ready to make your home a little luckier (and a LOT cuter 🐶🐱), please:

And then there were 2… 🤍🐾
The ironic thing is that when we were rescued 729 days ago, tomorrow marks 🚨 2 YEARS 🚨since we were rescued — the last two upstairs, with only our little behinds sticking out from under a nightstand. 🥹 From that moment on, we’ve been attached at the hip.

Willow (our beautiful grey girl) takes a little time to warm up, but her best friend is always right there beside her, giving her the emotional support she needs to feel safe and brave. Watching their bond has been something truly special. 💕

They would do wonderfully in a home together — continuing their journey side by side — but they are also strong enough to thrive separately with patient, loving families who understand them. 🏡✨

Both are spayed/neutered, and their adoption fees are fully sponsored. All they need now is a chance… a couch to curl up on, a window to watch the world from, and someone to choose them. ❤️

Please help us make sure their story doesn’t continue at the shelter. Share, tag, reach out — let’s find them the loving homes they’ve been waiting for. 🙏🐱

📩 Message our page or email [email protected] if you’re interested in adopting.

In just a few days, some of these precious cats will have been in our care for two years… 💔
Yes — two whole years of waiting, hoping, and dreaming of a family to call their own.
They deserve so much more than a kennel. They deserve couches, windowsills, warm laps, and someone who calls them family. 🐾
Because our main building is currently unusable, these kitties are being lovingly cared for in warm, safe dog condos. While we’re grateful they’re safe, this also limits our ability to take in dogs who desperately need help.
✨ All adoption fees are 100% sponsored.
✨ Foster homes are desperately needed.
✨ We are happy to meet you anytime for an application.
If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or are a rescue that can please pull them (especially one with higher foot traffic and volunteers), reach out to:
📧 [email protected] or message us on Facebook.
Let’s come together, share, network, and help every animal in Mercer County find the loving, safe home they deserve. 💙
They’ve waited long enough.

We want to take a moment to acknowledge HSPO Fette, who is currently the only Humane Officer serving all of Mercer County. He is doing everything humanly possible, and like many of you, we are deeply concerned for the safety and well-being of the animals during this time.
Due to an overwhelming volume of calls, you may not receive a return phone call, but please know that every report is taken seriously. To help manage the volume and get information more efficiently, you may also TEXT the Humane Society number.
📲 Text: 724-981-5445
When reporting a concern, please include:
📍 Full address of the complaint
📝 As much detailed information as possible about the situation
📸 Photos are extremely helpful and can be sent via text
Our Humane Society is a volunteer-based organization, and while we cannot be everywhere at once, the animals of Mercer County remain our top priority. We truly appreciate the community’s patience, cooperation, and compassion as we work through this together.
Thank you for caring, for speaking up, and for continuing to look out for those who cannot speak for themselves. 💙🐶🐱

💙 A Caring Reminder as the Storm Moves In ❄️🐾
With an incoming snowstorm and dangerously cold temperatures, we want to gently remind our community to please bring your pets inside where it’s warm and safe. These conditions can become life-threatening very quickly—especially for animals who rely on us to protect them.
We also want to be honest and transparent with you. Humane Society of Mercer County has ONE Humane Officer, who is a volunteer—just like our entire organization has always been. We are 100% volunteer-run.
While the animals of Mercer County are our top priority, we simply cannot be everywhere at once.
Please understand:
If a dog has a kennel, an appropriate dog house, straw (not blankets), and accessible food and unfrozen water, our role is limited to advising that the animal be brought indoors.
We rely heavily on community compassion, awareness, and cooperation during extreme weather events like this.
This is when neighbors helping neighbors matters most.
Check on animals you see outside. Speak up kindly. Lend a hand if you can. And if you’re able—bring them in. 💙
Let’s get through this storm together and continue to build a strong, united community of organizations and individuals who all share one goal: protecting and caring for the incredible animals of Mercer County.
Thank you for caring. Thank you for watching out for them. 🐶🐱❄️

Unfortunately, we didn’t make it home for Christmas—but our incredible volunteers made sure we were loved, spoiled, and cared for every single day. 💛
As we welcome the New Year, we remain hopeful. Many of us will mark nearly two years in care this February, and we are truly wishing that 2026 is the year we finally find our forever homes.
If you are interested in adopting, please send a message to our page or email us at [email protected]. All adoption fees are fully sponsored.
From all of us at the Humane Society of Mercer County, we sincerely wish you a happy, healthy, and joyful New Year. ✨🐾
