The votes for Employee of the Month for April have been tallied.

Congratulations to our very own Rachel Finch (yes, as in the bird)! And just like the Finch, Rachel has not migrated from Preppy Pet, and has been with us since 2017! Yes that's right, our longest tenured Employee.

You have probably seen Rachel at some point when you are dropping off or picking up, as Rachael works the mid-shift.

One thing only few know about Rachel is that she can spot a flea from a mile away. So make sure your dogs/cats are treated regularly, because she will catch it and it could affect the reservation 😉.

When you see Rachel, say hello and congratulate her on being our Employee of the Month for April.

Our goal was to learn a little more about Rachel so we asked her some questions:

Where did you grow up?

- A little bit of everywhere. I was a military brat. I grew up in Tennessee, Kentucky, Arizona, Italy, and Germany

What is a fun fact about you that may surprise people?

- I’m autistic, but I’m not on the spectrum

Do you have a personal aspiration you’re working toward?

- Being proudly autistic

What is your favorite part about your job and why?

- Getting paid to play with puppies. I don’t need to explain “why” 😊.

What is your favorite dog breed, and do you have pets?

- Pitbull – I have 2 Shih tzus…Jimmy and Oogie

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

- What you worry about the most is what you trust God with the least.

Once again, congratulations Rachel on all you have accomplished. Thank you for your loyalty, (which is HUGE to me) it is much appreciated!

Wishing everyone a very Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Preppy Pet!

We learned yesterday that one of our absolute favorites—one we truly consider part of our family—Peanut, has passed away.

​We’ve had the privilege of knowing and spending time with Peanut since we first opened our doors back in 2017. It’s no exaggeration to say that every single employee who has ever worked here had a special bond with him. He was just one of those dogs everyone loved; we’d all get so excited seeing his name on the boarding schedule.

​When my wife and I opened Preppy Pet, we didn’t fully realize how close we would get to these dogs and their families. Peanut was without a doubt one of those special souls. We are so thankful we got to spend time with him this past week and are deeply honored that his family trusted us with his care during his final days.

​This video is from Peanut getting picked up this past Thursday—the last time we got to say goodbye. Thank you to his family for giving us that opportunity.

​RIP, sweet boy. You will be missed by all of us. 🐾 🕊️ 🌈
