When Elmer the Beagle got his paws on some raw chocolate chip dough, things quickly took a turn! 🐶🍪

His pet parents brought him to UrgentVet Carytown, where the team acted quickly to help. With medication to induce vomiting, they discovered Elmer had eaten a whopping 2.4 pounds of dough! 🍞

Raw bread dough can be dangerous for pets because the yeast continues to ferment in their stomach, producing alcohol that can lead to toxicity. Add chocolate to the mix, and it's important to seek veterinary care right away.

Thankfully, Elmer got the care he needed!

When your pet runs into a bit of "Ruff Timing", UrgentVet is here to help. 🐾

Meet Otie: smiling through it all and proving to be an absolute trooper. 🐶💙

Otie received care for paraphimosis, when the p***s can’t retract into its protective sheath. Hair, debris, or swelling can contribute, and prompt veterinary attention is important—this isn’t a wait-and-see situation.

Watch for persistent exposure, swelling, excessive licking, or discomfort. UrgentVet is here to help with sensitive concerns and urgent care when your pet needs it. 🐾
