A great business decision 20 years ago!

Tilly’s diagnosis and treatment plan upon results of her biopsies:

She has a moderately severe Immune Mediated Response (not food allergy) Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Her stomach and upper intestines are involved. Why/how did she develop this? Her doctor sited several possible causes but we won’t ever know- what she’s eaten in the past? eating sticks? anything ingested could have caused it. Or a host of other possibilities.

Her treatment is:
1) a steroid called Budesonide, probably long-term and
2) an Immunosuppressant called Mycophenolate-compounded into a 200mg capsule, probably long-term.

Her food will be:
Hills I/D. Her doctor prefers this over other perscription diets because she says it’s great fiber, probiotic, chicken protein source and best price.

Well, relatively good news and treatable. Dean and I are sort of grasping at the fact we had a good seven years without a Canine Pharmacy at our house and a pack of five elderly/geriactric dogs all over 15 years old. But sure didn’t want my precious Tilly to be challenged like this. I’ll just be happy when vomiting isnt a part of her daily discomfort and our stressors.
And yes, she is also named for a StarTrek character!! We were asked yesterday!!

The best move I ever made was gifting my business to Nicole at GEM Dog Grooming (oh my, almost 2 yrs ago!). Today reaffirmed it as I had her groom my dirty desert dogs. How adorable and what awesome grooms.

I will never handle well the passing of client dogs. The loss is double- the precious dog and the respected and enjoyable human attached to the pup. I haven’t groomed or boarded her for over a year, but loosing Maizy forever is heartbreaking. Farewell my precious little white curly girl who came to me since Oct 2016. Peace and comfort to Jim and Beth. I loved and enjoyed her and let her deep into my heart. Fly high baby.
