These little babies, only 3 weeks old, were found by a kind person who then brought them to the Mount Pleasant Animal Care and Adoption Center. There the always amazing kitty advocate, Cheryl Morse-Stephenson, called us to come quickly. These babies were found inside a Walmart bag in a dumpster covered in filth and starving. We quickly got them to the wonderful Wright's Clinic in Gilmer and on medications. We are working very hard to save these darling purr babies. And for now, they have full tummies and a heated bed to rest in, plus lots of love and cuddles. And talking to, I tell them constantly to LIVE, and about how there are really nice families out there who would never do such a thing to them, but will keep them safe, fed, healthy, happy and loved!!!
But whoever did this, be warned,they are pulling surveillance footage and going to be looking for you.. Dumping animals is against the law in Texas!

The cuddle puddle is growing! As more momma cats pass in unfortunate ways, rescues find themselves squeezing in a few more here and there. These sweet little faces need names!
We received a new scale to contain babies as we weigh them and this will be tested for ease later today.
We always appreciate donation and surprises from Amazon deliveries to help support our efforts. Kitty needs are: Blankets, food bowls, kitty beds, Royal Canin Motther and Kitten soft and dry, Tiki baby Thrive, Fox Valley Day One formula. Thanks so much!

Everyone here at SCR has an important job. Uncle Batman serves to train kittens on the rudimentary fundamentals of kitten play.
LOL, watch as he gets goosed at the end. I'd wished I'd continued the video a little longer to capture his skyward leap!!!
Two of these sweet babies were pulled from a car engine. On rainy days, it's a momma cat's favorite warm safe spot. Check those engines, it's kitten season.

Update: Adopted by our dog trainer Matt Morris, of the Balanced Canine, and experienced kitten foster. We had taken Nugget with us to pick up our dog from training and Matt fell in love at first sight, later his wife daughter followed suit, and now Nuggie is being spoiled!!!
Happy tails little one!!!

And sometimes Sophie is called in to assist at our rescue. She's doing cuddle and bath duty while we do the feeding and monitoring duties.
We got a call the other evening during the storms that a 3 week old kitten was found. The mother hadn't been seen for awhile and during storms is when we'll pull a kitten immediately from outdoors. We will be working with the finder to get momma TNR'd and any other babies in care and ready for adoption.

Welcome Little Silver Nugget! He will be available at 3 months once he's completely vetted, but we are proud to say he is already using his potty box! Way to go, Nuggie!

Pre-adoption is available for any kitten/cat in care. Just let us know which one is your forever love! We'll get you an adoption form and arrange visits with your baby!

We have also rescued this darling Tabico momma. She gave birth to 4 darling tabby babies and then sweetly agreed to take on 4 tiny orphans rescued by the Phil Duncan Home for Wayward Cats after their momma passed.
It's a network of teamwork taking care of these homeless kitties, some work in the back ground making sure there's funding, some transport, so that mommas don't give birth alone in kitty jail. Thanks goes out to Vickie with The Friends of Carthage Panola Pound, where this sweet girl was tagged for rescue. We had tagged her, and again Kitty Cove filled in until we came back from out of state, and now these babies are resting here at Sophie Catio Rescue and growing daily.
THanks To Cheryl and Jennifer for providing care until we could get back in town and take over.
Please welcome Sue Ellen and the Ewing family to Sophies Catio Rescue. All Kittens will be named for characters on the show DALLAS. We will keep you updated with pictures!!!

We were busy even while closed down on FB for not having the right photo on our main page.
This beautiful girl came in, was vetted (thanks Kitty Cove Rescue for help with that while we were out of state!!!) and yesterday adopted to her purrfect home. Congratulate Miss Deli Welli on finding her happy ever after loves!!! She took her spring toys with her ;)
