A16447 Tanner is a tan with white colored, approximately 2-year-old, 70-pound, neutered male, Pitbull.
He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 04-30-2025 due to the fact he said it just wasn’t working out.
Tanner is a friendly, eager and excited boy here at the shelter. He’s a little bit nervous here right now. Trying to figure out this shelter environment and why he is here. Our staff says he is a giant goober, very playful and excited. Saying he takes his treats nicely and loves affection once he knows you are there to love on him. He was easy to leash and is jumping out of the kennel in excitement to get going. He pulls in excitement to be out on an adventure at first. Once he has been out for a while he calms down and gets pretty good on the leash. A little extra leash training would help him be his best. He has had some training and will “sit” and “shake” upon command, especially if you have a treat. We think he is dog selective as he barks at some dogs and walks right by others. We would recommend a meet and greet if you have another dog in the home. The previous owner says he is housebroken, but he has not lived with other dogs, cats or children. If you want an energetic, playful dog that loves people and playing this may be your guy. Tanner will be a fun-loving family member in his new forever home.
The adoption fee is $100.00 dollars.

Meet Dignity, a sweet and shy 2-year-old Husky mix looking for her forever home. At 63 pounds, Dignity is a gentle soul who entered the shelter as a stray on 01-01-2025. She has since been spayed and is ready for her next chapter. Dignity was returned recently from being in a foster home for about 2 months until it was decided not a good fit as they believe she might not get along with males and cats.
Though initially timid, Dignity is full of potential! With a little patience, she'll warm up and love being pet. She’s a bit nervous around new people, but once she gets to know you, she’ll be a loyal companion. She’s learning to trust, loves treats (and is treat-motivated!), and knows how to “sit” on command.
Dignity can be a bit reactive to other dogs, so if you have one at home, a meet-and-greet will be required. She’s looking for a family that will take the time to help her build confidence and feel safe in her new environment.
🖤 Dignity is available for foster-to-adopt for up to 30 days. Will you be the one to show her that love and safety exist? She deserves a bright future, and with your patience, she will shine!
📍 Come meet Dignity today! She’s waiting for the right family to help her grow and thrive.
The adoption fee is $100.00 dollars

He entered the shelter as a stray on 06-02-2025 and was altered by our medical staff.
Franklin is a friendly, social and easy to handle boy here at the shelter. Our staff describes him as super sweet and very interested in being held and cuddled. In his kennel he will reach out through the bars trying to touch you and seeking attention. In the playroom he was very curious about every smell and sound and although he was going slow, he was curious and checked everything out. But he does keep coming back for more love and attention from you. Franklin will be a fun-loving companion in his new forever home.
The adoption fee is $85.00 dollars.

A27431 Rue is a black with brown and white colored, approximately 1-year-old, 56-pound, neutered male, Pitbull / German Shepherd mix.
He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 04-29-2025 and was not reclaimed by his unknown owner.
Rue is a friendly, eager and excited boy here at the shelter. Our staff says he is super energetic and will jump up and down like on a trampoline in excitement when he knows he is coming out for a walk. He wants to play nonstop and wants your attention for all the snuggles and love you will give. He was a little difficult to leash as he is jumping in excitement to get going. He pulls in excitement to be out on an adventure and will need work on his leash manners. He has had some training and will “sit” command, especially if you have a treat or toy. He has no interest in other dogs here at the shelter. If you want an energetic dog that loves people and playing this is your guy. Rue will be a fun-loving family member in his new forever home.

A27683 Sailor Moon is a black colored, approximately 3-year-old, 9-pound, spayed female, Domestic Short-Haired Cat.
She entered the shelter as a stray on 05-08-2025 and was altered by our medical staff. She was adopted but was sadly returned shortly thereafter due to new owner being allergic to her
Sailor Moon is a friendly, sociable, and easy to handle girl here in the shelter. Our staff describes her as super sweet, loves to be loved on and will talk to you when she wants affection. Saying she is waiting at the front of her kennel, rubbing on the door, waiting for all the love and affection you will give. In the playroom she was very curious and explored all the cubbies, shelves and furniture and smelled everything. She loves people and affection and will curl up on your lap and nose your hand for more love and affection. Sailor Moon will be a fun-loving companion in her new forever home.

A27978 Waffles is a black with white colored, approximately 2-year-old, 62-pound, spayed female, Australian Shepherd / Pitbull mix.
She entered the shelter as a stray on 05-21-2025 and was altered by our medical staff.
Waffles is a friendly, eager and excited girl here at the shelter. She loves to greet everyone that shows up at her kennel door with excitement. Our staff describes her as an energetic, curious and adventurous happy girl. Saying she loves affection and meeting new people. In the play yard she was an excited ball of energy, running around, smelling everything and still trying to get affection from anyone there. She was easy to leash and of course excited to go for a walk. She does pull hard on the leash and will need some leash training to be her best. She has had some training and will “sit” upon command, but not for long. She has a happy tail wag around other dogs, but she is such a ball of energy that she won’t be right for every dog out there. She will need an owner ready to help her use that energy with lots of activities. Waffles will be a fun-loving family member in her new forever home.

A28584 Luna is a black colored, approximately 3-year-old, 6-pound, spayed female, Domestic Medium-Haired Cat.
She entered the shelter as a stray on 06-12-2025 and has not been reclaimed by her unknown owner.
Luna is a friendly, but timid and shy girl here in the shelter. She is still processing this shelter environment and why she is here. She also recently weaned off a litter of kittens. So, she is processing a lot right now. She stays in the back of her kennel watching the world. She would do best in a nice quiet home with love and time to decompress from all the changes. Our staff describes her as a sweet girl who will lean into your affection once she trusts you. Saying she loves attention and affection. In the playroom she was off looking for a safe cubby to watch the room from. She would probably be best in a home with no small children as their noise and quick movements might scare her. Luna will be a loyal, loving companion in her new forever home.

A25400 Obi is approximately 4 year-old, 83-pound, neutered male, American Pit Bull Terrier mix. His adoption fee has been sponsored.
Obi is a bundle of joy and excitement, and he’s looking for a loving home to share his endless energy with! He came to the shelter as a stray, and since then, our medical team has taken great care of him—he’s been neutered and had a dental cleaning, so he’s all set to go!
Obi is always wagging his tail and excited to see anyone who approaches his cage. He’s super easy to leash and doesn’t mind having it put over his head. This guy is strong and a real puller, always eager to explore and excited to get out of his kennel. If you love a dog who’s ready for an adventure, Obi is your guy!
He’s a super nice dog, though his energy can be a bit overwhelming at times, and he’ll need some guidance with his manners. He gets really excited and will listen when enticed by a treat or toy, but he’s not the type to follow commands without motivation. Obi will sit and stay when you have a treat or toy, but outside of that, his excitement can make it tricky to get him to focus.
Obi is very playful and loves to sniff around—he’s the type of dog who wants to pull you everywhere to check out all the cracks and corners! He had done well in our large dog playgroup. He’s definitely got a lot of personality and would thrive with an active family who can keep up with his playful nature.
He’s a gentle giant at heart, but Obi needs to continue learning his manners and listening when it's not food-related. He loves being handled, though he can be a little touchy about his mouth, so that’s something to be mindful of.
If you’re ready to add a handsome, energetic, and playful pup to your family, come meet Obi today! He’s sure to bring endless fun and love to the right home.
The adoption fee has been paid by Friends of Henderson Animal Shelter.

Say hello to Darla, A28546, our sweet and stunning tortie girl! At just one year old, she’s full of love and looking for a forever home to call her own. 💛

Darla came to us after being surrendered by her previous owner, due to having too many cats. While the shelter can be a bit noisy and overwhelming, Darla’s been handling it like a champ. She’s found herself a cozy cubby to relax in—just enough walls to feel safe, but open enough to keep greeting her visitors.

She’s a social sweetheart who loves attention. You’ll often find her right at the front of her kennel, giving gentle meows and leaning in for head scritches. She adores affection and will happily spend her time soaking up all the love you’re willing to give. 💕

Feather toys? Not quite her thing—she was a little startled by the fluttering! But when it comes to calm, quiet companionship, Darla is all in.

If you're looking for a loving, gentle cat to brighten your days, come meet Darla. She's waiting with soft eyes and a warm heart. 🐱✨

Meet Drogo – A Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold
📍 4 years old | Neutered male | 115 lbs | Surrendered 5/21/25 | NO KIDS
Drogo is a big, gentle Dogo Argentino who’s looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can finally unwind. He was surrendered for growling at children in his previous home, so no kids for this sensitive guy—he does best in a peaceful space where his boundaries are respected.
At the shelter, Drogo has shown himself to be an affectionate, well-mannered dog. He’s easy to leash, walks politely by your side, and welcomes pets with a happy tail and calm energy. Sit down with him, and he’ll quietly lean in for chest rubs and head scratches—he’s truly a soft soul.
Drogo has also done well in playgroups with other dogs. He’s social, gentle, and knows how to walk away from conflict. A friendly, respectful dog companion could help him feel even more at home.
🐾 Ideal Home: Adults only, quiet environment, and ideally a friendly resident dog.
🐾 Personality: Gentle, chill, respectful, and affectionate with people he trusts.
If you're looking for a loyal, steady companion who just wants a peaceful life and someone to love, Drogo is waiting to meet you.
The adoption fee is $100.00 dollars.
