🌈 Saying Goodbye With Love
One of the greatest gifts we can give our pets is a peaceful, loving goodbye.
At Vets Off Leash, we are honored to offer scheduled in-home euthanasia services for families facing this difficult decision. Our goal is to provide a calm, compassionate experience when the time has come to say goodbye.

By coming to your home, we allow your pet to remain in the place they know and love most- surrounded by familiar sights, sounds, and the people who love them. There are no stressful car rides or unfamiliar exam rooms, just comfort, dignity, and time together.

Our team is committed to walking alongside you during this emotional time. We're happy to discuss quality-of-life concerns, answer questions about the process, and help ensure your pet's final moments are as peaceful as possible.

If you feel your pet may be nearing the end of their journey, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help.
❤️ With compassion, always.

🚗☀️ Hot Cars in Vegas: A Minute-by-Minute Reminder 🐾

Summer in Las Vegas means sunshine, pool days, and outdoor adventures, but it also means extreme heat that can become dangerous for our pets in a matter of minutes.

Here’s what can happen when a pet is left inside a hot vehicle:

⏱️ Minutes 0–5:
The temperature inside the car begins rising quickly. Even with windows cracked, the heat can build faster than your pet can safely handle.

⏱️ Minutes 5–10:
Your pet may start struggling to regulate their body temperature. Panting increases as they try to cool themselves down.

⏱️ Minutes 10–20:
The risk of heat stress rises significantly. Pets may become distressed, weak, or show signs of overheating.

⏱️ 20+ minutes:
Heatstroke can become a life-threatening emergency. Elevated body temperatures can lead to organ damage, collapse, and even death.

A few important reminders:
❌ Shade does not make a parked car safe
❌ Cracked windows do not prevent dangerous temperatures
❌ “Just a quick errand” can still put your pet at risk

Especially vulnerable pets include:
Senior pets
Flat-faced breeds
Overweight pets
Pets with heart, respiratory, or other health conditions

If you’re heading out on a hot summer day:
💧 Bring water
🏡 Leave pets at home when possible
🌅 Walk during cooler parts of the day
🐾 Plan pet-friendly stops where your furry friend can safely join you

Our pets trust us to keep them safe, especially when summer temperatures rise. 💙🐾

Stay cool, stay safe, and enjoy the summer adventures together!

Summer pool days can be a blast for the whole family, including our four-legged friends! ☀️🐶 But before your pet jumps in, it’s important to remember that not every pet is a natural swimmer.

Here are a few tips to help keep pool time safe and fun:

🐕 Not all dogs are natural swimmers
Some dogs love the water, while others may struggle - especially breeds with short noses, heavy bodies, or large chests. Never assume your pet knows how to swim. Always supervise pets around pools, even if they’ve been around water before.

🦺 Consider a life jacket
A properly fitted pet life jacket can provide extra support and peace of mind, especially for:
First-time swimmers
Older pets
Dogs with mobility challenges
Longer swimming sessions or boating adventures

🚪 Make sure they know how to get out
Pets can become tired or panicked if they cannot find the pool exit. Teach your dog where the steps or ramp are located and make sure they can safely access them.

💧 Watch for water and chlorine ingestion
Some pets love to drink pool water, but too much can cause stomach upset. Encourage fresh water breaks and provide plenty of clean drinking water nearby.

🐱 Remember our feline friends
Many cats are not interested in swimming, but outdoor water hazards can still be a concern.

Keep an eye on:
Open pools or hot tubs
Water features
Buckets or containers that can collect water
Areas where a curious cat could fall in and have difficulty escaping

☀️ A little preparation goes a long way in keeping summer adventures safe for everyone.

We hope you have a fun and safe summer! 🐾💙

Looking for non-prescription ways to help your pet during fireworks?

Many pets benefit from supportive calming products, including:

✨ Thundershirts or anxiety wraps
✨ Adaptil (dogs) or Feliway (cats) pheromone products
✨ Calming chews and supplements
✨ White noise machines
✨ Interactive toys and enrichment activities

While these products may not be enough for every pet, they can be very helpful when used as part of a larger anxiety-management plan.

🚨 If your pet typically requires prescription anxiety medication for fireworks, please contact us ASAP THIS MORNING for refill requests to help ensure we can get medications processed before the holiday. Last-minute requests may not be able to be filled in time.

If your pet has severe fear of fireworks, contact us to discuss additional options.

🐾Housecall Highlight: Skye & Molly! 🐾

Some patients are ready to soak up all the attention... and some prefer to admire us from a safe distance.

Sweet Skye was all smiles during her exam with Dr. Fenner, while her shy sister, Molly, kept a watchful eye from nearby. Both girls looked absolutely adorable sporting their Vets Off Leash bandanas! 🐶

One of the best parts of mobile veterinary care is meeting every pet exactly where they're most comfortable. Whether they're outgoing like Skye or a little more reserved like Molly, we take the time to let each pet go at their own pace.

Thank you for welcoming us into your home, Skye and Molly! We loved spending time with both of you. 🐾

🎇 Fireworks and pets do NOT mix.

Beyond the noise and anxiety, fireworks pose serious physical dangers to pets.

Potential risks include:
🔥 Burn injuries
🔥 Eye injuries
🔥 Ingestion of toxic firework materials
🔥 Smoke inhalation
🔥 Severe anxiety and panic

Please keep pets away from all fireworks, sparklers, and spent firework debris. Even "used" fireworks may contain chemicals that can be harmful if chewed or ingested.

The safest place for pets during celebrations is indoors, supervised, and away from the action.

Let's be honest-July in Las Vegas is HOT! ☀️🔥 That doesn't mean your pets can't enjoy some Fourth of July fun.

Looking for safe ways to celebrate with your furry family members?

❤️ Make homemade frozen treats or pupsicles
🤍 Enjoy an early morning walk before the pavement heats up
💙 Set up indoor sniff games, treat hunts, or puzzle toys
❤️ Cool off with a splash pad or kiddie pool for water-loving pups
🤍 Have a patriotic pet photo shoot
💙 Treat them to a movie day and extra couch cuddles

Remember: pavement temperatures can become dangerously hot in just minutes, so always check surfaces before walks and plan outdoor activities for the coolest parts of the day.

Tell us- what's your pet's favorite way to beat the Vegas heat? ☀️🐶🐱
