There are some sessions that stay with you long after the camera is put away, and Spottie’s was one of those.
Spottie was found wandering the streets many years ago, and somehow she found her way to the people who would become her family. We spent a beautiful evening together with her mom and auntie, soaking up that perfect sunset light and capturing all the little things that made Spottie so special. Even her sweet little bows made an appearance.
She was happy, loved, and completely herself, and that is exactly how I wanted them to remember her.
I recently delivered her Acrylic Keepsake Folio Box to her family, and found out that Spottie had passed away. We all had a good cry in a very public space the minute they opened it and told me. Seeing how much they loved the printed images and how important it was that they had them now in her absence was a little reminder of why I love what I do, even though it was very emotional. It was one of those moments that makes you stop and realize just how much these photographs can mean.
I’m so grateful we got to give her family these memories while she was here, and even more grateful that they now have something tangible to hold onto. Her box has a velvety grey exterior to match her fur, and a royal purple interior to match her personality.
Some photographs become more precious with time. These will forever be a little piece of Spottie’s story.
Fly high, sweet girl🤍
