Meet Oreo, Patches, Munich & Xena.

Four paws, four personalities, and one very loved family 🤍 From tiny shih tzus to mighty rottweilers, this unique rescued crew showed up with so much heart and so much charm. Wrapped in golden fall colors, action shots, and sweet in-between moments, this session felt like pure magic from start to finish.

Xena, who is still a puppy, was a recent addition who went from foster to adopted pretty quickly when she fit right in with her brothers. Now their memories live on in a Luxe Art Album filled with love, laughter, and every perfect little detail of this season together.

Grateful to have been the one to capture it all.

We drove to Senja, Norway on a rainy Tuesday morning from Tromsø and started our day with Kitchi & Senja in a beautiful location in the lichen covered fjords.

The fog and raindrops added to the drama of these images, and I had the opportunity to learn more with off-camera flash in a tough situation. We couldn’t have asked for more patient dog models (or humans!) this entire day of shooting and I’m obsessed with how these turned out.

Meet Maia & Mel.

After celebrating Mia, it’s only right we give a little love to the rest of the crew. These two beautiful German Shepherd girls brought so much energy, personality, and heart to this session, the perfect balance to their wise big sister.

Together, the three of them make this family whole. Different ages, different stories, but one incredibly strong bond.

There were just too many moments worth sharing from this sweet little pack that it needed two posts and I cannot wait for them to see their Luxe Art Album full of these memories.

Meet Mia.

This session was all about her, the sweet 15-year-old Boston Terrier who’s been there through it all. From her mom’s twenties to all the big life chapters that came after… graduation, moving, breakups, marriage, Mia has been the steady little heartbeat beside her through every season.

Her family wanted to honor that kind of love, the quiet, constant kind that shapes our lives more than we realize in the moment. So we spent the afternoon loving on her and capturing the softness in her eyes, her tiny expressions, and the bond built over a lifetime of memories.

The other pups had their turn too (more on them soon!), but today is for Mia, the dog who made every chapter a little lighter, a little warmer, and a lot more meaningful.

Hi! I’m Jess, the photographer behind the lens for Pet Project by Jess. Since I’ve had a few new followers recently I thought I’d share a little about myself.

My mission is simple: Dogs deserve better photos and I’m here to help.

🎂Fun Fact: Today is my birthday! I don’t think there’s a better way to introduce myself than to solicit comments and messages from my followers

😏Sarcasm is my middle name

🐶On my lap is my best girl Eleven, or El, Ellie Belly or Ells Bells. She was adopted from after being found at 7-Eleven & part of the Pups on Parole program. We found out she’s also made up of 7 different breeds! She loves long walks on the beach, waking me up by licking my face & stealing your food

🦬I’ve lived in Henderson since 2004 so I guess you could now consider me a local but I’m originally from Buffalo, NY which makes me a Knights, Bills & Sabres fan🫠

📷I use Canon cameras and a variety of lenses for my sessions. I have been doing photography since 2010, and created my business to go full time with it in 2022. I used to be a video editor for storytelling pieces, corporate videos and event highlights. Now I tell stories of my favorite subjects, dogs

✨I’m an Enneagram 7w6 for anyone who’s into that kinda thing

✈️I’m a bit of a travel addict. I want to see all the places and do all the things (see last fact above) I recently visited Norway to photograph dogs and have just begun posting my images so stick around to see epic content in your feed

🍝My love language is trying new restaurants

🎶I love all kinds of music and try to see as many live shows as possible

🍷I strongly believe wine & cheese count as a meal

🐕 I have a tendency to name my dogs after favorite tv and movie characters or musicians. In my past I’ve loved a Navin Johnson, Grux and now Eleven

📺A few of my all-time favorite shows are The Office, Breaking Bad, & Stranger Things and I quote them often.

Our first shoot of the trip the morning after landing late and running on pure adrenaline!

We went downtown by the water in Tromsø to photograph our first two models, Pluto & Luigi. My group started with Pluto, a handsome, energetic, well trained goofy border collie. We started at Porten til ishavet “The Gateway to the Arctic Ocean” mosaic art installation. It was a perfectly framed view of the Arctic Cathedral behind him and then we let him run around for some fun photos.

Meet Moose.

Before the day began, it was just the two of them wrapped in golden light — all love, all closeness, all beginnings. Puppyhood is fleeting, but moments like these are the foundation of a lifelong bond.

Moose is a new service pup in training, and watching the connection already forming between him and his person was such a joy. The cuddles, the smiles, the goofy moments-how cute are these two?! I love knowing these moments will now live on in their photo album forever.
