We can't adopt our way out. SPAY AND NEUTER is the only way.

When you call with a litter of 5 mos old puppies or kittens that you can't find homes for, please know we will try and help but we struggle to find homes too. Please just stop breeding, please just stop with the ooops litters, please just stop with the I didn't know.

When you get a dog or cat, your priority is spay and neuter by 4-6mos. Yes, cats can get pregnant at 4 mos and YES, dogs can get pregnant at 6 mos and with their 1st heat. And even by canine and feline siblings or dads or uncles, etc.

We know that if you are on rescue and shelter sites, you know this...so please share with someone you see or know that may not. 😊.

My sweet Dash 🌈🤍

Dash had to be humanly euthanized this morning. He was doing better overnight and then sometime between his 6:30 feeding and me waking up at 8 he was cold and clearly suffering.

I’m so mad that him and his siblings that passed before he came to us had to suffer. This all could’ve been prevented by having their mom fixed. I hate this part of rescue. I hate that he had to suffer.

Dash is not doing well at all. He’s extremely lethargic. He now has an open would near his butt, he’s dehydrated, running a fever, has a double eye infection, likely an infection by his umbilical cord, and diarrhea.

We’re at the vet now. He’s getting his blood sugar checked, dextrose if his sugar is low, and an antibiotic injection. I attached his care estimate below. They offered to keep him at the vet, but I am going to bring him home and stick him in the incubator and continue to tube feed him.

He is in very critical condition and it is very possible he may pass within the next few days.

*Despite all this he continues to purr and make biscuits 🥹

I found a well fed tuxedo cat on the road, hit by a car. She was killed instantly. I didn’t have the heart to leave her there so I took her home and gave my tuxedo cat a big hug.
She did not have a collar. I took to my vet and there was no chip. So I posted it on Nextdoor and Ring Neighborhood in case anyone was missing her. Nobody claimed her, so I named her Angel and had her cremated.
Tomorrow I will bury her in our garden where we have our other cats who have passed away over the years, under a little statue of a kitten chasing a butterfly
She is loved.

Dash is the tiniest little guy. He will be 2 weeks old soon but he still has his umbilical cord and his eyes are just barelyyyyy peeping open. He’s only 116 grams.

He will also be making a trip back to the vet again soon as he has a cyst like thing near his butt that released some puss when he pooped. So we will be getting that checked as I’ve never seen it prior to now on him.

He’s still very weak and very small. He’s still not eating on his own with a ni**le, he will not suckle on it. So he’s still being tube fed until he figures out the whole bottle thing.

The kittens are both officially 4 weeks old today 🥰

They’re starting to play together, learn how to use toys, and learning to use the litter box. They will start to eat big kid food in about 1-1 1/2 weeks.
