Newman, Dagnall, McGowan, Leavitt, Giuffre and staff are working to maintain the spirit of service to our community and the high quality of compassionate veterinary care that Dr. Arla Barkemeyer and The Animal Center have provided to the pets and owners of the Helena area for decades. We are a small animal veterinary hospital providing in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, ultrasound, laser therapy, dentistry, and surgical services.

Now accepting new clients/patients!!

We are excited to welcome Dr. Keith to our Animal Center family. With over 22 years experience as a veterinarian, he will make a great addition to our team. He has a special interest in the health of working dogs, oncology, trauma, and general surgery.

Dr. Keith Farquhar is a Montana native who recently returned to his roots in Helena. Dr. Keith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Montana State University - Bozeman and moved on to complete his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2002. Working in small and large practices over the years, he has developed special interests in the health of working dogs, oncology (cancer), trauma, and general surgery. Dr. Keith strives to bring compassionate and evidence-based care to every single patient and to foster the human-animal bond with each conversation.
