Im sorry for not updating recently. Its been a rough July. We haven’t had a successful litter born since January, the hand fed babies didn’t make it, and we had to make the impossible decision to let our oldest dog go a couple weeks ago. We are in the middle of moving our main home and myself moving back to Auburn, AL for 2nd yr vet school. We are still active and trying for litters. I’m incredibly thankful to my waiting list that has been so patient and kind through all this. I hope to update with good news in the next few weeks. It would be nice to have a “win” under our belt 💔

We are down to two babies. 😞🩵 The two smallest of the litter have passed away which was expected but it still sucks. All the time feeding and caring for these babies has been grueling and I hate to lose them. I’m still holding out hope for one of our other moms to give birth soon and I can get her to foster the ones that are left. Keep the prayers up for these tiny babies 💔

It’s been a rough couple of days. One of our moms had babies Thursday, but something wasn’t right. We rushed her to the vet where she had an emergency spay/c-section. One baby was stuck in the birth canal. Thankfully, mom is recovering well so far ❤️! She had 8 babies- four alive, three stillborn, and one dead in the birth canal. The four babies left have required round-the-clock feedings (every two hours- day and night). I am skeptical that they will make it due to the lack of colostrum. We can’t put them back with the mom due to her needing to recover and the risk of her not accepting them. I am hoping that one of our other moms will give birth soon and possibly adopt these little ones into her litter. Until then, I’m on mother hedgehog duty and will do everything I can to keep these babies going 🥺❤️.

Stay tuned for updates on these little ones. The mom will be available for adoption after she’s fully recovered💕

Praying for babies to be born! Our next expected litters are due between 6/6-6/15! I’m fairly confident we have a couple moms expecting. It’s so hard waiting 😖❤️! Especially when we have had such bad luck this year! Thank you to our waiting list for being so patient ❤️❤️!!
