It’s been a rough couple of days. One of our moms had babies Thursday, but something wasn’t right. We rushed her to the vet where she had an emergency spay/c-section. One baby was stuck in the birth canal. Thankfully, mom is recovering well so far ❤️! She had 8 babies- four alive, three stillborn, and one dead in the birth canal. The four babies left have required round-the-clock feedings (every two hours- day and night). I am skeptical that they will make it due to the lack of colostrum. We can’t put them back with the mom due to her needing to recover and the risk of her not accepting them. I am hoping that one of our other moms will give birth soon and possibly adopt these little ones into her litter. Until then, I’m on mother hedgehog duty and will do everything I can to keep these babies going 🥺❤️.
